Would have preferred a more decisive ending, but this is fine as well. At least the author was able to come back and give it an ending at all, and taking a step ahead to show us where their lives would go from here may have well been a better end than a rushed conclusion.

I mean we got an "ending" insofar as there was a chapter that said "fin" at the end of it.
Nothing was resolved and I honestly don't see the point in the author putting the effort into one last chapter like this after a long hiatus. I feel no more satisfaction from that last chapter than I would have if it never existed. Not even the kiss does anything for me since it was a surprise attack and feelings weren't confirmed.

I'm disappointed we didn't get to see any development between the stepsisters. The MC was convinced her family hated her despite her younger stepsister being quite fond of her. Would've been nice to see her come to realize it.

It's not even an ending lol. For the majority of the chapter, there is plot hooks and developments as if this was just a normal, monthly chapter. The last 3 pages feel like they were hastily stapled on to this chapter to slap a fin on a story that didn't reach any conclusion.

That's exactly what it was. This feels no better than if it had ended last chapter. And they had easy opportunities to try and put a bow on things.

Why not have the teacher just outright reject Mizuki? We know that's where it's going anyway. Mizuki could have left, consoled by her friend. The end. Instead we have this "she technically didn't say no yet," non-ending, as though there's more chapters coming. (The "technically she didn't say no," trope is annoying anyway, so I'm sort of glad that was avoided.)

It's not like we don't know who the main couple is. Then we have the actual kiss, blush and promise of a future for the main couple, which makes it even more silly not to edit in that rejection. Weird all around. Feels like they just changed the last 2-3 pages to end it and washed their hands. Even a time skip would have been better.

This is one of those situations one person says "no one loves me, that's so unfair" and the other one just thinks "it's not, your personality sucks", the first person is haruka, she has the nerve to say "I haven't done anything to deserve this!" while blackmailing sensei, bitch, you deserve the pain

A reasonable sentiment, but I tend to enjoy characters with off-putting flaws.
The pain in the ass, overbearing gremlin was a decent contrast for the pushover teacher. A more well-adjusted and reasonable MC would have made for a terribly boring manga...not that it ended up particularly entertaining as it is.

Well la de da. Nobody ever gets to say anything on one of these forums ever again, then.

For me the problem is that this was a story that set up all its elements as something more along the lines of psych / psych-horror or suspense, and this last chapter tried to resolve it as, for some reason, a bog-standard romance. Gives the story about all the coherence of the whipped cream on top of a hamburger.

Anyways, I feel like the author just wanted to end it. This was a whole lotta nothing! Sensei literally sat there for like 4 chapter with her thumb in her mouth and head in outerspace. Pushover types are interesting but she was just like...there? MC's realization of her love for sensei felt really out of place. Meh that was an ending of all time.

After the nearly 2 years hiatus, it was predictable it would be axed.

At least, the scanlator didn't drop it. It's been the same one for 4 years. They sure are dedicated.

Some manga get directly cancelled and don't even get an ending (Prism anyone?). At least, we got a conclusion here.

It probably means the sales of volume 1 were really bad and the author lost motivation and found something else to do. Maybe they got married, maybe they got a kid, but I think their mangaka career is over.

Regardless of everything else, this will always remain one of the greatest manga ever just for giving us this.

It's a shame it ended like this, unlike some others I really enjoyed Haruka -- it's rare to have a love interest as flawed as her and I thought she was a really interesting character. Oh well. Maybe I'll use it as inspiration to write my own story with a similar character dynamic lol.
