Asumi, sweetheart. YOU ARE LIVING THE DREAM WTH!! Mai must be the best laid someone can get EVER if she is THAT worthy of giving up Nanao "sugar Kohai" life. Like i would die to be on Asumi's shoes just for Nanao

You are so real. When Asumi went "I can't live like this." I'm legitimately asking why. Even though in real life I'd probably feel this way too.

I'm so invested in Asumi meeting Mai. Noy exactly them getting together but at least talking. My heart dropped seeing them miss each other again,

Asumi-chan " I can't rely on Nanao Chan forever
I've gotta do my job and I've gotta go to the brothels"

Brilliant Asumi-chan, absolutely brilliant...

im very curious what direction asumi-chan is going. Things are kinda happening in the way i assumed they would logically, but i didnt expect this to actually be the way it happened, unless the point of this is that asumi and mai are gonna meet once, and then mai is gonna get sent to tokyo as a way to progress that side of things while also drawing things out more?

idk about this direction, i do feel like introducing nanao, while positive in the short term, kinda went too far and is detracting from the entire idea of the lesbian brothel escapades the story was built around. Its kinda interesting though because asumi still doesnt seem like she really has fallen for nanao, or at least she hasnt fallen enough to stop caring about mai, even when literally nestled in nanaos boobs lol.

Nanao really went from "Shy girl who knows nothing about sex" to being a dommy sugar mommy.

The author reminding us that other characters still exist is a nice touch. It's been a while since we've seen Asumi's senpai and boss, and of course, Mai. Also love that Serina is becoming a recurring character now.

Yeah the MD comments were heavy on the fact that if Asumi had feelings for Nanao she wouldn't be feeling so out of place in this situation. I'm curious if the manga is heading towards a discussion of sex vs love. Nanao wants both from Asumi, and Asumi seems like she can only give the sex part, at least for now, that may change later.

I definitely wouldn't mind if the story took a turn and after meeting Mai they just become friends and get over each other and allow each other to be unburdened in dating other people. I think that would be an interesting way for the story to go, but nothing so far has convinced me that Asumi likes Nanao any more than she likes Sayaka, for example.

Also, I keep feeling like we're gonna get some backstory on her senpai and it never comes.

Nanao's really embodying the stereotype of the quiet ones always being the freakiest.

From volume 3 extras, it seems like Asumi just prefers to have more "variety" instead of being with one person only

Nanao is so horny, she has speed-run the "quiet girl to pervy sex goddess" character arc in, like, three chapters. :D

Also love that Serina is becoming a recurring character now.

Word! Serina still best girl.

The writing of this chapter seems to frame Asumi settling down with Nanao as a failure condition for her personal journey. Despite featuring tons of sex between them the tone of this chapter did not make me hopeful for Asumi and Nanao’s future relationship.

I still enjoy the story but at this point Mai is like an industry plant, and with barely any marketing. We're just supposed to want her to win out based on....?

Is it really any wonder that many are supporting actual developed character relationships over empty pinning for someone we essentially don't know, based on a non-crush from when they were basically toddlers?

The setup and choices of this manga have seemed suspect the more it's become clear that we really are supposed to view Mai as an end goal, rather than a catalyst. "I Won't Sleep With You for Free," is almost the same type of story but handles this specific issue much better.

This has been my feeling as well.

If Asumi ends up leaving Nanao when she finds Mai after everything they built up my opinion of this series will drop like a stone. If Mai is end-game no matter what they never should've introduced a character like Nanao and gone so far with her because at this point how am I supposed to root for Mai? She's made actual appearances in like 4 chapters out of 5 volumes and Asumi and Nanao are clearly obsessed with each other. Asumi has to literally force herself to start looking for Mai again.
Best case scenario, they find each other and Asumi realizes she can't throw away the life she built with Nanao for a childhood crush that she wasn't even really aware of, and they become friends instead and Mai finds her own girlfriend.

My heart would break when Asumi resumes back to the brothel and Nanao is fine with it. At that point I would say Nanao deserves better, I don't want to see her becoming a doormat. But let see what happens

I still think this would make the most sense, first and foremost because it would be funny and this is a comedy manga :P If after however many chapters it turns out that they'd rather just go their separate ways, that's pretty humorous to me. But I think it's hard to predict anything because I also don't get the impression that any of this was planned out.

This chapter and Asumi's conflicted feelings are a good example of why it's not typically recommended to sleep with your boss or a roommate, and Asumi's gone and done both at once with Nanao. It's almost impossible for her to keep this casual and draw boundaries without hurting Nanao or turning her down since they spend so much time together. There's some real drama fast approaching for the two of them. Maybe drama that will see Asumi find an excuse to take a trip to Tokyo to make some physical distance, hmm?

I love her! I was so happy to see her again. I'm low key shocked that she seems to have an actual thing for Asumi, though, to the point of picking shifts so Asumi will pick her again. If she has a crush on Asumi, I feel for her, because I know that's not going anywhere.

I guess the point right now is where is this manga as a whole going lol but I'm down for the ride.

I'm still under the assumption/hope that the relationship situation will at some point evolve into some form of OT3, whether that's a open relationship style dating + casual sex or full-on triad polyamory (my preferred end goal).

The direction up to this point certainly suggests as much, to me at least

  1. Establish important connection between MC and Love Interest A
  2. Bring in Love Interest B and form meaningful Relationship between them and MC
  3. ???
  4. MC (and LI B?) meets LI A and has to reconcile their feelings for A with the same for B
  5. MC come to the conclusion that both are equally important and strives to continue them both
  6. ???
  7. Profit

I'm not sure why everyone here is on the Nanao train. Asumi liking sex and it being readily available with Nanao is like giving an addict her fix, but there was no indication of feelings from Asumi's side here.

Like the line, "at this point I'll go from having a friends with benefits to having a sugar mama" still implies that Nanao isn't really being seen as a partner, and more importantly Asumi isn't thinking about her feelings towards Nanao at all. Nothing has changed from chapter 16. If anything, the date chapter was at least more romantic than the constant sex they're having.

Can you really call Mai an industry plant when she is the literal driving force of this story? Bear in mind that everything Asumi has done in this story, from Chapter 1 onwards, has been for the express purpose of meeting Mai. Going to brothels, getting her job with Nanao (and, by proxy, becoming Nanao’s FWB), none of this story would have happened if not for Asumi’s desire to meet Mai and figure out her unresolved feelings. In that way, Mai could almost be looked at not as a character, but as some sort of force that is driving the story along.

I also think Nanao’s whole story has had an important role in the story. This whole arc has basically demonstrated that Mai has become something of an emotional “block” for Asumi. You have this almost perfect relationship with a young, cute girl who is madly in love with Asumi. Just about anyone would jump at that sort of relationship, but Asumi seemingly can’t emotionally commit to it while Mai still remains unmet. It’s the sort of baggage that can, if left to fester unresolved for too long, can destroy relationships. Meeting Mai, then, has become less a matter of falling in love with a specific girl, and more a step that Asumi must take before she can allow herself to fall in love. I think that’s what the author was trying to tell us in this chapter.

Either that, or I’m just over analyzing porn.

There are definitely indications of feelings from Asumi's side, but she's hung up on her old crush. If she wasn't, she almost certainly would have made things official with Nanao by now, and that's why people are on the Nanao train. Embracing a healthy relationship directly in front of you is way, WAY healthier than continually dragging yourself to brothels in hopes of hunting down a rumor that a girl you once had a crush on might be one of the girls there.

Like the line, "at this point I'll go from having a friends with benefits to having a sugar mama" still implies that Nanao isn't really being seen as a partner, and more importantly Asumi isn't thinking about her feelings towards Nanao at all. Sure, but the point isn't that they are more romantically entangled, the point is that they should be, and they aren't because Asumi is so hung up on a fantasy of someone she knew years ago that she's ignoring a golden opportunity directly in front of her face. It's amusing, fairly human, leads to lots of sexy situations, and makes for a fun story, but it's definitely granite levels of stupidity on Asumi's part.

Asumi's senpai is running around with the photos that she secretly bought after Asumi was tricked into doing a lewd photoshoot by her boss. If that didn't generate an ounce of drama then I don't see anything getting too dramatic between Asumi and Nanao :p

I'm a bit surprised that we still are going with the Moderate amounts of sex tag.

This manga has "moderate" amounts of sex?!?!?!?

I'd love to meet the taggers who made that choice and ask them exactly what it is that they call lots and heaps and truckloads of sex.
