This is totally valid, and it certainly should never be the norm when your're getting to know someone, but as long as couples talk about it and have some kind of way to show the partner when something is ACTUALLY bad, then using this kind of dialogue can be very positive and fun. I say talk about consent rules with ANYONE before diving in and everyone will have a better time.

Bit of a tangent here, but I think lots of hentai have exciting ideas for ways you can plan to interact with your partner, as long as y'all decide it's okay first :>

yeah the episodic nature is a little weird because it divorces a lot of the smut from context
It's very easy to extrapolate that Asumi is just Like That and that they probably talked about safe words or stop signals given that Sayaka probably doesn't want to lose her job but when it comes to something this sensitive you don't want to be expecting the reader to do so

Honestly I think friends with benefits is fine for now? I hope they end up as the end goal couple, but we probably need to resolve the rest of the plot for that to happen if it's possible.

Sometimes you need to get it out of your system (literally in that situation right now myself). It's not necessarily the best idea, but if you're mature about it and communicate well with the other person then it can work out fine.
