That deflection at the end about loving the galaxy was a bit too stupid for me even considering this is clearly meant to be not a very serious comedy... this either makes more sense in Japanese or the author was mostly trying to imply that Yuzu was just dozing off and interpreted this weirdly... I dunno.

It does make more sense in Japanese. It's a pretty common gag in Japanese media for a person to say "I love [you]" while the target of their affections is paying attention to something else, at which point they'll be like "Oh, you love pancakes? OK, I'll get you some pancakes!"
This is due to the fact that it's easy to imply both subject and object in Japanese without it sounding stupid. But translating 好きだ as "It's love..." to convey the structure more in a 1:1 way would also make very little sense. So we're stuck having to understand a gag that is linguistically nonsense in English :)

I think "I'm in love" would have kinda worked, but as is so often the case there's no perfect solution. It'd likewise have no recipient, but it'd be linguistically consistent and it'd make sense for Yuzu to misunderstand it.

It could be done with "I love..." as well. Would change it a little but if you have her trail off it would make the patient fairly ambiguous

If she was bolder and said Yuzu no koto ga suki desu or even ai shitemasu or Yuzu itoshi teru there would be no humorous misunderstanding.

I have to wonder if the other party isn't doing this intentionally. Yuzu is coming on so strong it's like she's trying to get Minami to fall for her. I wouldn't be surprised if the development turns out that way, them both trying to seduce each other but being too dense to think the other party is in love with them.

Even if Yuzu is kinda an idiot... I freaking love her and everything about her. The next chapter should be very fun full of even more miscommunications and saying one thing but 100% meaning the exact opposite oh boy!

Yuzu can be flirty and simultaneously dense.

I kind of wish we got more time with the actual couple instead of with their friends, right now it’s nearly structured as if Minami and Tatsumi are endgame. Also I look forward to the inevitable sidecouple chapter.

So far the side characters are more interesting than Yuzu, I hope she'll get some actual development soon. We're supposed to believe Minami and Yuzu are best friends, but so far it seems like Minami and Tatsumi are way closer.
