This manga is called me out for not listening to full albums, just smatterings of songs. Echoes Silence Patience & Grace by Foo Fighters was my fave album for a while, so this feels a bit too familiar though. Their use of melody and sections isn't so alien from Asian Kung Foo Generation songs that FF reaching Japanese high-school students would be surprising. If you get into albums or genre radio, you quickly get exposed to nearby progenitor bands like Nirvana. Maybe it's a decade or more late but the taste in music isn't unreasonable.

Even if it wasn't bands I know of, I'd love this manga. Cheesy premise, impactful coloring, simple fun.

OMG I'm in love with this! I can't wait to see how this progresses, and I absolutely love the use of green in the backgrounds and on the characters it just makes everything pop and feel so energetic. ^_^ <3

it’s one of the trademarks of “outsider” teens to be into music that their “mainstream” peers who listen to the latest thing are not. One way to do that is to be into cutting-edge, experimental, esoteric bands that no one’s ever heard of, but the easier way is to be into older music, and in teen pop terms, 10 years is an eternity. Hell, 5 years is an eternity.

Find a slightly disreputable, “cool,” slightly older mentor with a great record collection and you’re golden.

If you only use Dynasty then it makes sense cause it was uploaded here today. The dates Dynasty uses are when the scanlations were originally released, which results in some derpiness when something is added later on.

This. But then, nearly every song Weird Al parodies, I love it when he does it, and then I go listen to the original and it's, well, OK usually, but not nearly as good. The man has a godly gift for lyrics.

Indeed kinda fun to see a band I can sorta get behind in a manga, though they aren't exactly esoteric on a level where it'd blow my mind that they are brought up.

Otherwise fun stuff. Doesn't feel too original but whatever; they are cute.

Foo Fighters is pretty dank but Nirvana I haven't really touched on that much.
I've just been listening to game OSTs lately and stuff like Guns N Roses, Slipknot, Rick Astley.

I was more of an Avenged Sevenfold, Breaking Benjamin, System of a Down kid but after reading the comments, I guess I'll give some of these bands a listen lol.

Hopefully she's not got daily shifts. It looks like she's got eight total piercings too. I've only got six myself and its hard enough remembering to put them all on before going out. But hey, you never know when some cute gyaru's gonna be watching for a meet-cute, amirite?
