That literally would make absolutely no sense whatsoever.
When your mom sets up a marriage interview for you, her daughter, the other person is always a man. Most often a relative of a friend or an acquaintance of a coworker or something like that -- a single guy who has a decent job and is looking for a homemaker wife and is ok with anyone who meets a minimum of specs.

The whole reason Japanese mothers are so pushy about finding husbands for their daughters is because they want grandchildren. And seeing as science babies aren't a thing yet... well, you get the picture.

The social stigma is also a thing, the "OMG she's in her twenties and still not married?!?! what will the neighbors say oh nooooooo" and the twisted "limit" of 30yo like if she's not married by the age of 30 then is over, her life was meaningless, no one will ever love her now.

Here is my prediction: her marriage interview will be with the girls father/brother/uncle, and the situation will become weird.

Or it will be in her familys restaurant.

I'm very much excepting it to be a dude, but I could see it being her. I don't remember titles but I've seen marriage interviews go gay in one or two mangas, though I dont remember if they were yuri or BL

Anime Version Ending:

But I have faith in Mai-chan. She may not be the main character, but she is the hero of Be Careful, Onee-san! The only marriage meeting Tae needs is the one where she tells Mai's parents she's clumsy but she hopes they accept her!

Comment after mine suggests alternate ending 3: She deliberately gets caught with Mai-chan and goes to jail to avoid an omiyai. Then, because the prison authorities don't know who Mai-chan is, they're allowed conjugal visits! #goodend
