I kinda half-expect (and very much hope) to see Prism references because he's been punished enough.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say the nonstop degrading and referencing of prism and the sketching scandal just doesn't happen in Japanese circles and doesn't seem to hinder Shou's work. Shou hasn't stopped publishing by any means and it seems much more likely that Shou uses a different pen name to distance themself from the very graphic, intense loli porn and sci fi epic they've been doing.

don't disagree with your comment about the scandal hindering Shou's work, but this is more a comment about the readers. maybe it's not that big a deal, but if some of comments that were made (for example on this site after the whole scandal became known and even today) are a representation of all his readers, my point is they need to let it go. it was a thing. it happened.

I think the users in this page give the whole tracing incident a lot more importante than the actual japanese readers (not that it isn't important). The name seems to simply be a way of trying to distance he's hardcore pornography from he's fluffy fun safe for work manga.
If so then I would say it's a pretty smart move, first impressions are important and having your name be associated with a certain type of content can be very harmful to the stuff you want to put out. I saw Shou's NSFW works before he's SFW ones and it was really quite hard for me to read the latter without feeling a little bit weirded out. However with cool kyoushinja I read his non H works before even knowing of his NSFW works' existence, so I never made the conection in the first place.
Presenting himself with a different pen name is a good way of dissociating he's two (very) different types of work. Even if readers eventually find out about the other content he makes, they will have likely already formed an image of the type of manga they expect from him.

Vampeerz and Stretch are Akili works. That's why they are promoted together.

Higashiyama Shou still does use his main name when working as an illustrator on non-H works, for example, on a novel published a month before the publication of the last volume of Stretch and on a novel published some months ago.
He started using the name Akili because he needed a pseudonym to publish Stretch after the Prism debacle and after the sucess of Stretch then the name Akili stuck around with his works published by Shogakukan.

Bittersweet. Now methinks this story will go down with the audience in buckets of tears. For some reason, it'll be just like Doraemon. Aria's wise to have herself killed by someone who can. Watching everyone you knew and loved die before your eyes as you yourself glide easily through millenia can be extremely painful.

Guessing Higashiyama had a blast digging up suitably ancient references, not unlike Cool Kyoushinsha with Maid Dragon...

Btw, this has been kinda making me curious a bit but, wouldn't this series need an "age gap" tag since Aria is at the very least over a 100 years old? Only difference is that she keeps* her youth cuz she's a vampire, it kinda makes no sense for me to not add that tag.

That was a cute and hilarious and nicely forward-developing chapter all at once.

Although I think giving Aria's supposed age the entire "never kissed anyone" thing makes no sense. She's clearly 13+ or so. In the past that'd have been "old enough" hundreds of times over. ^^ Smells a bit of purity-fetishizing where in romance you gotta have "all the firsts" for it to be really truly the most romantic type. Which stinks. But allows for their relationship to be more wacky comedic. So there's that ...

I didn't expect much of this story, but it is sooo good. Enjoying it a lot!
