Never read/watch that thing, but I kind of think it might happen in latter chapters... And in a way, trying to convince that girl that she won't rape her after almost doing it there could be seen as some poor and clumsy attempt at brainwashing.

The waitress girl should totally get her sense back and call the cops or simply send back that vest through mail and never get close to the "mistress" ever again, but doubt that'll happen. Character making sense tends to be in the way of a lasting story, especially if it needs some drama.

Seriously, how many manga, anime, books, movie, series, whatever would have been much shorter if the character did the sensible thing right away ? XD

idk, sure it was pretty much a sexual assault, but at the same time Gunj had her completely surrendered, but stopped, before doing anything overly intimate, after seeing she was so afraid.
I mean if she was going to rape Petai that was pretty much the time to do it.

I'm also here for the comments, but it seems that I came too early. However, this was a good one:

Such a good girl, properly introducing herself to her would-be rapist.

This whole speech & dialogue is awkward and that 3rd chapter cover is rather chucklesome

Literally cringed while reading this. Too awkward, too rapey, too forced (no pun intended).
That's it for me and this series.

Now I'm curious to see what sort of idiocy is going to happen next chapter.

Kind of like Lemonade in a way, isn't it?

Should we make a bet on how long this story will last before it gets axed/dropped/abandoned/chopped up to oblivion? Or animated on a porno site? Or one fan begger for more updates? Lol..

At first I thought the name 'Petai' was referring to stinky beans, which got me chuckling for a good while. xD

Haha, also the nerve "Look, I'll not rape you... but I could have, lol." I guess I'm not into BDSM for sure. i always find it very unsettling if there is such a big imbalance of power in a relationship. If they switch roles in the next chapter though, we're talking again. ;)

Yeah, the waitress girl should stay away in RL. But it's like in any half-bad shoujo manga, where the normal girl can't resist temptation and gets into a spiral of danger and passion... * cough * * cough * * cough * ah this damn dry throat...

Oh well, I still think the story has some potential (especially because I dig OL and Age gap tag so this better be good >:I ) I'm going to stick around for a bit and hope the author will improve. Style and story look a bit rough, like the artist is (possibly rather young and) still finding his/her way and gaining experience. Give them a chance. :D

This manga is not a good representation on how BDSM works. In an actual SM relationship, the submissive one has full control.over the situation and only gives that control up to the dominant one until they feel like it's necessary to take it back. Safe words and stuff.
Basically, actual BDSM is built on trust and this story has none of that.

Exactly what I wanted to write :P

My own problem with this manga is exactly this. Showing BDSM not in very nice - 50 shades of grey - colors. Also as some of you mentioned all rape(ish) stuff.

Melon

i always find it very unsettling if there is such a big imbalance of power in a relationship.

The thing is the "power" in a relationship is perfectly balanced (well depending on relationship, but it should be fairly fair) since BDSM only applies to sex. Of course it depends on how far you want to take it, but using average relationship that is into BDSM as example, they will act as any other couple, they just prefer kinkier sex. And BDSM doesn't need to be involved each time. As everyone has their preferred position, but can change it if needed, BDSM works exactly the same. Also as was already said, it works entirely on trust, and unless it involves gags (still you can agree on non-verbal signal in this case) submissive can stop the play at will. And if you won't listen, then well, you just screwed all that trust we talked about. So unlike you yourself want to make BDSM part of your entire daily life, it doesn't really change the way relationship would work. It really is just a role play where both partners just plays their roles in order to pleasure one another. What is show in this manga, is a toxic relationship/blackmail instead.

Also changing roles regularly could be technically possible, but I'm not sure if there is actually someone that doesn't mind playing both roles. Even if you are not into BDSM and just tries it out, unless you just don't think it is your thing, I think the most realistic scenario would be still that both partners would eventually realize they enjoyable one role more than other. And if both will want to do the same role, it would most likely lead to clashes.

Seconded. This story caters more to a rape/control fetish than a true BDSM relationship. If you were interested in a more realistic approach to BDSM the comic Sunstone is a lesbian BDSM story. It addresses the partnership and trust aspect as well as building a relationship. Good "wholesome" and accurately depicted BDSM seems hard to find though.

Kind of wish the tags were changed on this one. I have no opposition to content like this since I'm sure there is a desire for more forceful encounters but I think it should be properly labeled. Fake BDSM?

The art is not great, there are certain panels that look somewhat awkward, but it is not that bad either. It is actually kind of refreshing, at least for me.

The writing, on the other hand, is sub-standard, and conversations in general seem rather unpolished. The very premise itself is rather unrealistic, and not very intelligent in its conception. Getting rid of super-persistent former customer/stalker --> girlfriends for rent --> random waitress that happens to walk in at the very moment the main character is reading about girlfriends for rent. Not only are these three not logically connected, but the sheer randomness almost reads as a plot for a porn movie.

And the whole encounter in the restroom seemed more like a prelude to a rape than... well, whatever it was going for(?).
"What if I forced myself on you?"
...If? What do you mean, if?!
Also, the waitress seems far too submissive. If she had any intelligence, she would just mail that shirt and be done with. Not that it will happen, obviously. If she is stupid enough to fall for it, and it turns ugly, well, she will get no sympathy from me. I mean, it is not like she will go blind into this, she is basically going to see a person who has already assaulted her once.
"I-I.... I'm afraid"
"Don't worry. I'm not going to rape you, sweetie."
Oh, alright then, if you say so. I would totally go into a dark alley or an empty apartment with such a person. After all, they gave me their word. That they will not rape me. ??? I am... honestly not sure which one of them is more out of touch with reality.

I expect the waitress to actually enjoy it, although, she will probably verbally protest. It just seems like it is that kind of thing. Also, chapter 2, "Excited". Which one of them is supposed to be excited, the would-be rapist, or the unfortunate victim?

The main character is a completely unsympathetic bastard.

Also. "You're 30 years old but you're still beautiful."
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA...............

Not gonna lie...I am here for the comments.

so it's not very representative of bdsm and it's resembling fifty shades of grey? I know very little about both these things. I try to be open-minded, not willing to write off that scene we spent most of last chapter on as impossible for a healthy relationship to spring from but yeah. The rest of this is just too wonky. Going to drop it. Office ladies tag made me think "not high school/jr high." Not against youth stories. Just wishing for more adults in these stories.

Definitely not representative.

Terms, conditions, and safewords are generally outlined in advance. Nothing is forced, and there is always a way out of the situation if you feel uncomfortable. Sometimes it can choreographed or thought ahead, where the participants are acting out roles and know what's coming. Interesting basic article here. What's depicted in this story is someone forcing themselves on another and manipulating them (ie: "I could have raped you, but didn't. Look how nice I am. You're such a little idiot. Let me control you.") Which, if you're into that in a fantasy sense, sure, go ahead. But it's not BDSM culture.

Writing quality reminds me of Fifty Shades. Lol. Reads like terrible FanFiction.

I think the comments explaining that this isn't BDSM are pretty necessary. There are a lot of misconceptions about the concept of dominance and submission in sex, especially with trying to reconcile that with true feminism (read: not sjws and fake feminazis) and autonomy. There's a lot of interesting articles about how people feel empowered and fulfilled when introducing healthy play like this into their sex lives. I don't personally participate myself but I think it's pretty fascinating.

Then it is the fault of the translation. The panel I read said what I have quoted. Perhaps some better preparation next time, scanlation team? Assuming the poster above is correct, I have no way of knowing that.

The situation still looked like a prelude to a rape, though.

I read all the way to chapter 14. I can tell you that there is no rape. Gunj just doesn't know how to treat people lol
