Looks interesting. No idea if I'm reading too much into the first chapter, but it reminds me a lot of the manhwa Suicide Boy, which is also about investigating different methods of suicide.
I hadn't heard of this one before, was pleasantly surprised to see it was already finished and binged the entire thing, and this is just so incredibly good
Did MC's mom die too in the scuffle, or was it only her pedophile stepdad that died? I'm just wondering why she had to move, whether it's because her mom died or went to prison or something else.

I’m pretty sure she died too. She had a wound on her stomach that made it seem like the bastard might have turned the knife on her at one point during the scuffle. After what went down, it’s likely that she would have made another appearance if she had only gone to prison.

I expected it to be super sad and with a bad ending based on tags but the second half is just so wholesome (excluding the mother dying, that fuck dying is great tho)

Those tags scared the hell out of me. Usually this kinda thing would just upset me, but the assurances that the ending is more uplifting than you'd expect helped me check it out.
It was good! Very sad and emotional at points. But good. This manga didnt shy away from anything, but handled it really well, I think. I especially loved how Yuuki was handled!
