At least the solution is pretty obvious here. They started the 7 days of dating thing from various places where they were both trying to figure things out, how they feel, romance, and so forth. Now that they're broken up they can approach going out for real as a sort of restart, where they can both be on the same page and dating because of mutual affection + attraction.

I don't really like this kind of "i got interested in you 'cause you look alike at the one who broke my heart" plot. I hope that she take the "You look like her, but you're not her" way and leaves the past on the past. I'm really sick of the lesbian can't forget their ex plots.

That aside, to comment on the chapter... I really love how they are showcasing Sumie's expressions now. Her eyes specially, they get so wide when it comes to Manatsu.

several thoughts:

I'm so glad we finally got a chapter from Sumie's view. I wonder if we're sticking with her view, after the turning point of the breakup.

It would make sense, we were in Manatsu's viewpoint when she wasn't in control of the relationship. Now that she is going to be the driver, I reckon we'll see it from Sumie's perspective.

I still think Sumie's tutor probably used the same reward method for tutoring that Sumie herself used on Manatsu. It was very effective.

I wonder what Manatsu will think about Sumie's past, and if she finds out, I wonder if she'll have enough grace or awareness to know that despite Sumie's protests to the contrary, she was a child that was taken advantage of.

the fact that this didn't wrap up as neatly in three chapters as I thought it would three months ago, probably means we're getting another volume. and I wonder how much of it will be from Sumie's perspective.

She quite literally did that in her monologue, that's why she broke it off because she genuinely fell for Manatsu who she realized is nothing like her tutor and feels bad about it.

That’s messed up, taking advantage of a middle schooler’s feelings. I’m guessing the tutor is in college, so probably around 18 to 20 years old.

When I was reading comments in the earlier chapters, I was always wondering why everyone thought something didn't happen. My assumption was always that it was exactly like this.

So Nagi decided to use Manatsu to properly "end things" with her previous love, since Manatsu reminded her so much of her Tutor, who was her previous love. Did I get that right?

Her appearance caught her attention to start things off, but to me she's more speed running what happened to herself but taking on the tutor's role. This time she's in control as the tutor and romantically experienced one of the two. She set an end date instead of a promise, but otherwise she went through all of the things. But unlike the original tutor who apparently did all that and still ghosted without looking back, she caught feelings so is off script.

Yup, even though there are several flashbacks to previous chapters, it explains a lot about Sumie.

I think Sumie is punishing herself for approaching the relationship in a way that she felt wasn't entirely honest. I don't think she's punishing anyone else here.

After this chapter I reread the series and... the signs were there all the time (for the old toxic romance). But I only understood them now. Truly awesome.

Also I live for that last panel. Sumie looks at Manatsu so full of fear and heartbroken. I can't wait what will happen.

Tsugunai is crazy good. It's considered one of the late Teresa Teng's signature songs, though it doesn't seem to be that well known internationally.
