AiriMizu! One of my favorite non-group ships and I think Airi should get to fight some of Mizuki's bullies

^ I very much dislike this talk of invalidating NB lesbians of their identity. This is a mighty slippery slope you paint, where words lose their meaning at the mere suggestion of changing them to become more inclusive and that the acceptance of NB lesbians making lesbian as an identity lose its meaning... Which has not actually panned out, given that I've seen this discourse held in many lesbian communities plenty of times in the past couple of years and many of them have simply broadened the definition of lesbian to include non-binary folk, moved over to using sapphic as a label, or changed lesbian to be term regarding gender identity itself. So there is place to discuss changing a words meaning, without the word losing all meaning itself. Words have never been static in their meaning, which is apparent looking at the etymology of any language.
I would also like to point out that dynasty's tagging system is by no means objective. How many times have there been discussions in the comments on whether a series warrants the yuri tag or subtext tag? Just look at the comment section of Nettaigyo wa Yuki ni Kogareru, Miss Sunflower, or Liar Satsuki Can See Death. Two of which ended with the main protagonist in a roommate situationship, yet one series has a yuri on it and one has subtext. I would personally classify all of these series as yuri, but given there is no clear divide of the tags given dynasty's system it fell on I assume the dynasty folk to decide. However there is still value in the subtext tag for many readers, but it isn't as if it has some objective meaning across readers. I don't think think a reader should expect this from a tagging system because there can't be a black and white divide between tags in all cases.

For another, I could say I identify as a male but my pronouns are 'she/her'. I think most people would roll their eyes, as well they should, because that combo makes no sense.

There are many drag queens that do identify as men but also use she/her pronouns and not because the combo makes no sense. However the dissonance and fear drag creates for certain folk does seem to contribute to why many states in the US are wrongly attempting to restrict and ban drag.
I also really don't like arguing why identity matters, especially on a Mizuki post. Given that it seems you are unfamiliar with Project Sekai I will just say that your statements on the importance of identity are also antithetical to the story the Project Sekai writers have written regarding Mizuki's story. So the metric you pose for tagging seems increasingly bad when (thankfully) dynasty seems to normally take in creator intentions into their tagging decisions.

I appreciate the dynasty folk tagging all the MizuEna posts with trans and non-binary. I would personally also welcome the yuri tag for the rest of the Mizuki posts here. Especially since Mizuki is a magical girl girlie, which is clearly one of yuri-est of genres lol. But I do think this is up to the dynasty folk, especially given the current vagueness of Mizuki's gender identity in-game.

Seems like Kaede plans on acknowledging Nakanishi's love to help her not go through maybe the same regrets her and Nami have... At least that is my read on things. I am happy that this seems to be a bit of a queer mentorship story and am looking forward to what it evolves into.
Thanks for the translation.

Ah~~Ah~~Aah~ Mountains of hope

There are two sections that might be the part Nagi is singing, but I think this one fits more.

やさしすぎたのあなた~~
こどもみたいなあなた~~
You were too kind, my dear
Almost like a child, my dear (Source: KMNBT)

Given how little we have seen into Nagi's thoughts so far I can't help but think that "Tsugunai"'s lyrics are a bit revealing...

So Mizuki is canonically trans but Project Sekai hasn't used almost any explicit labeling language, however it has been pretty much confirmed since Mizuki's 5th focus event. I think of the level of confirmation as equivalent to the confirmation of Haruka and Michiru being a couple was in the original Sailor Moon anime (not the English dub). The main elements of Mizuki's story are about their struggles with society's perception of folks that are gender non-conforming and the othering that is associated with that. Their story is absolutely written to tell about a queer experience.
General overview of the story events, spoilers for Mizuki's story:
* As a young kid they preferred to dress in "cute", more traditionally feminine attire. However other students would bully them and make comments that their clothes were "weird". (The quoted words are words that Project Sekai uses to frame the narrative.)
* They entered an all boys school for middle school, no longer choosing to present with "cute" clothes. They had an extremely isolating experience there, their only friend being the other loner, Rui.
* Towards the end of their middle school time they found an online group of friends, 25 o'clock at Nightcord, and with the encouragement of their older sister she decided to go back to presenting in the way they felt most comfortable which was by dressing "cutely" and with their signature ribbon. Also growing her hair out past this point.
* In high school Mizuki is treated like a "zoo creature", where students talk about them behind their back. Students still commenting on Mizuki's choice of clothing. This is why she chooses to skip school as much as possible.
* Most of her focus story events are about their concerns about wanting to come out to their friends with their "secret" and/or being outed by students from their school before they get the chance. However they worry about how her friends will perceive her once they come out.
* Mizuki mainly wants to be accepted for being themself.
* Mizuki was outed as trans during the events of Mizuki 5 when Ena got stopped and asked by a group of students from their school about whether Ena knew Mizuki. Then the students started making a "joke", asking Ena if she was "also a guy". Those students also then say Ena is a "normal girl" where as it is implied then that they don't see Mizuki as such.
* During the end of the events of Ena 5, Mizuki came out to the rest of her nightcord group.

Since Non-binary is very often considered under the umbrella of Transgender and especially since the current Mizuki's story so far would lead me to read Mizuki as trans fem and nb, those are the reasons I would guess on why both tags have been used.

There's a Japanese blog post I read about the Mizuki 5 focus story event and the focus events before that has a good in-depth explanation of why one should read Mizuki as trans fem and/or nb. It has a better Japanese language/media context than I can provide: https://note.com/nebou_june/n/n37fe1265a179#049ff682-479e-4980-9730-97204971e24d .

Thanks for the translation! Grateful that you all translated the extra chapter as well, which really seals the tone of the story for me.

Was the novel chapter included as part of the official release or was that added by the team?

The extra chapter release was part of the official manga volume release. I assume it was also written by Ru, however I did not find it in their novel works on pixiv. The manga covers the original novel written by Ru which is all from Yumimaru's POV, but the manga also seems to incorporate parts of the separate prequel from Konno's POV into chapter 8.

Both characters have struggled with the experience of not being seen as the human beings they are while having lived in this city. And having lived devoid of meaningful human connection, they both take turns fumbling with this relationship they build together. Like Yunimaru, when she was given the necklace by Konno. And Konno with her desire to hurt Yunimaru with her death. Konno who seems to have failed to been seen as a human being during her life so far, seeming to throw things at the wall and hoping something would stick, in an attempt to continue to live.
The ultimately hopeful ending is still bittersweet in that aspect, I hope these two can continue to build upon their relationship and recover from the ennui they have experienced.

I like the choice on page 01 to have the English title almost blend into the background. Much like her feelings that she had buried for so long, which made it such that she didn't have to see them as much, they were always still there.
