darn, seriously enjoying these wordless short comics by Lyy (although cat = bitemark is at least plausible but dog = hickey is kinda silly)

I'm pretty sure they're both supposed to be dogs actually, it's just that Anon is more of a small pink yappy dog.

I think that Anon might be a chihuahua in particular cause that's the semi-official animal casting for her (sorry the source doesn't have an English TL: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/CFijqBHzZOM ).

So Hana and Lemon's magical transformation doesn't really change their hair color though it does change their eye color. I'd assume the transformation works similarly for Sou. However young magical girl Junna has a very different hair color than current day Junna. Assuming that Junna was the same type of magical girl as the rest of them, is Junna's hair now dyed?

Also omg the angst, be still my heart~

2026 ShizNat<3!! and of the scene that still makes my head hurt. what in the homophobia does it mean by having Natsuki do that kiss and then be like 'I can't return the feelings you wanted from me.... I love you Shizuru'

Thanks for the translation! These uploads almost always arrived during the afternoon in my timezone, so I'm glad I was able to experience the original afternoon sugar rush myself

I think I preferred having this happy end for Airi and everyone over a would have been bad end.
Minori still living her freak life gives me life. tho can't believe Mari would trauma dump like that /j

The last couple of pages of Ch.18 are really striking, all the grief Aoyama has experienced... It made me tear up twice, once when I was originally reading and now again reading the lovely translation (thanks for the translation!). Aoyama's reflection and apology was really wonderful to see.

Regarding Yurika, I find her last name very curious. I was looking into the etymology of yuri(由理) and saw that the earliest place it was recorded was the Kojiki, one the oldest classical texts of Japan. Apparently 由理 was originally pronounced "sai". In the Kojiki, it states that the river got it's name "Sa(w)i" from the mountain lilies on the river's bank. So Yurika's last name Saikawa (犀川) sounds really similar to this other river mentioned in the Kojiki, Saigawa(佐韋河). A hell of a coincidence.

There are questions I still have about Yurika, like the reason she became a classical literature teacher. Was it because of her parents (given the classical origins of her name) or did her own connection to the classical texts become its own interest? What really was her reason for participating in Class S in the first place?
I imagine we will be seeing more of her if Kasumi and Haruyo talk to her about the letter, though I hope they won't have to spend much time with her. Someone please get Yurika away from schools...

The extras were super adorable and freaky, hoping for more~

Loved the use of the blue soy sauce as a metaphor for them as a family. A bit non traditional, discounted by others, but when added to added to the right dish, "...ish gud". I also liked how Akane reframed it, reinstating both of their worths. Joined with An's ultimate desire and enjoyment of the blue soy sauce, the narrative so nicely tied up the metaphor I initially thought this was a oneshot. Happy this is continuing~ I'll be happy if Akane and Miwa's relationship continued to be more yuri or if it continues into a secret third thing, high-resolution yuri. (Akane was so sweet with how she helped Miwa with her necklace )

As someone who was taken care of by a single father for a time, I always hated the often vapid comments like "kids need both a mother and a father". Those were the few times I felt sympathy for the bastard (my father), a man with many failings and yet didn't even get useful advice and critique. (Not as if that man listened to reasonable comments, so the sympathy was most likely moot.)
Miwa's rebuke of Keiko was extremely cathartic, I'm glad she was able to protect An and that she stood up for herself as well. What a wonderful read to start off pride month.

Thanks for the translation! I can't wait to read the rest!

What a merry bad ending~ Thank you for the scanlation and your thoughts!
Kuzushiro's horror and yanderes have to be my one my favorite things

I initially read Kagari more like a manifestation of Ageha's queerness. When Ageha was young, Kagari wasn't something that Ageha could see (though Kagari was probably still there, one could say like a moon on a rainy night). Nor is Kagari something others can explicitly see. However, when Ageha grew older she could acknowledge her queerness to some extent (by kissing, if only we could all be so lucky~). This made the scaries and the fear go away for a time, but also made the scaries even more frequent.
With this reading of the story, the central conflict is about inner acceptance. Kagari wants Ageha to completely accept her, even though she knows that she also causes Ageha to be ostracized to some extent. Kagari knows that is what will get rid of the scaries. But Ageha doesn't think that's realistic, because by accepting her queerness she becomes, well, queer. The idea of being queer is almost the scariest thing to her yet. However, page 35 is Ageha reaching that acceptance to some degree. It is the only page where Ageha and Kagari share the same eye color, seeming to be equals for a brief moment. In this case, the heterochromia is more like Ageha's quasi-acceptance, perhaps acceptance in some spaces and denial in others? Or denial till graduation? It's not mutual for now lol

Wait. Maybe it's a stretch but I wonder if the girl Sui likes is Reina's sister?

Sui did mention she was younger than Reina, being a college student and all, so maybe she goes to school with Reina's sister?
It would be wonderfully messed up if it was Reina's sister that Sui had a crush on, given she picked Reina on how close Reina looked like her crush. A resemblance that the person on page 8 vehemently denied. However, not sure how much credence those words have given that person also looks like an asshole who has a warped sense of reality given they're shitting on a kid who got an 87 on a test to do nothing but study.

Also is the person on page 8 one of Reina's parents or a relative perhaps? Cause they do seem older than Reina, but also they mention disliking some other mysterious "her" which is not Ai.
Reina seems to have had a shitty childhood for sure. Not great luck with looking like other people either tbh...

Aoyama and Kasumi here reminds me a bit of A Streetcar Named Desire, mostly in the antagonistic framing between realism (yuri?) vs fantasy (Class S?). Where Aoyama does come off as the cruel and brutish Stanley, deriving a gross pleasure from trying to break what she sees as a fantasy relationship rather than her narrow box of what she's labeled as real romance. Though Aoyama is much more sympathetic than Stanley. I don't think Igurashi is going to go full Blanche with Kasumi, but I hope this encounter doesn't scar her too much. This stranger was very much not just a friend you haven't met.

I will never get enough of Igurashi's framing and shading work, which always does such a good job invoking the sense dread and terror I often feel for Kasumi in this rather dark world. It's a bleak ending to this chapter and I figure the next chapter will revolve around Aoyama's own S journey, but I am hoping that soon Haruyo can bring back the light in Kasumi's world.

Thank you for the continued translations! I was really looking forward to this one though I figured it would be a harder one to translate with Aoyama's speech style.

What a pathetic doormat Yuzuki is... Hinata is the one saving this for me.

Victim blaming go brrr
In all seriousness, the majority of the story's setup revolves around Yuzuki's low self-esteem. Hinata's main conflict, keeping Yuzuki alive, is dependent on Yuzuki's conflict, rebuilding her self-esteem. I really don't understand reading a story when not buying the central premise or the protagonist, but you do you.

This is kind of a reverse Long-Awaited Feelings so I'm interested in how Yuzuki will continue going about rebuilding her sense of self before it's too late.

The cover art always invokes some type of dread in me, though I never know what exactly I dread until I finish the chapter. I haven't felt this way since I watched Utena.
