so let me get this straight (lmao).
Meguru asked her girlfriend, who was clearly into her, for sex - Then got upset when she said yes, failing her hidden 'test'.
Girl has issues, but intentionally triggering a trauma as a 'test' isn't healthy or fair because it causes exactly the kind of secondary trauma Azuki now has. God damn.
In a perfect world, Meguru would just communicate "I have sexual trauma and am not comfortable with sex", but teenagers gonna teenager (Although I've seen worse communication from working adults so lmao I guess).

While correct in your analysis, I think Meguru was just trying to process her father's infidelity. She wanted Azuki to save and reassure her, someone who wouldn't betray her expectations; this obviously backfired, but I think it's good to see that it was just her lashing out because of the trauma.

Anyway, the only one I'm actually worried about is Niji, that girl is clearly dangerous, just imagine what would happen if she witnessed this scene.

I'm honestly most terrified of Niji as well, she gives me serious Mirai Nikki Yuno vibes. shivers

I'm wondering why Meguru has that expression. Niji definitely has some strong feelings for Remu, but Meguru doesn't seem particularly attached to either of them right now.

Meguru's feelings I think are clearly complicated. It's likely she hasn't been as close to any other person as she has to Azuki and we see her being very happy with Azuki in a flashback. In current times, we only see her talking to her dolls like a 4 year old and she still is afraid they might have some kind of sexual feeling. She seems like a very isolated and fearful person. Unlike Meguru, she may be functional enough to have friends, but we would expect her to fear them more than her dolls.

From that perspective, Azuki's relationship with her step sister would be incredibly weird and off putting to her. We also don't know how she would feel about Azuki healing and moving on in the first place, given that Meguru clearly hasn't moved on from her childhood. It's possible she still wants the type of relationship she had been seeking with Meguru when she was younger, so Azuki finding a relationship that doesn't reject sexual feeling (even one as nonconventional as hers with Remu) could be threatening.

Someone else mentioned this, but as I’ve read the following chapters, I’m inclined to believe Niji is secretly recording all of her conversations with Remu, or just whenever Remu is talking in general, and constantly plays them back to herself. I think the cover for the latest chapter, which depicts Niji caressing Remu while holding her phone behind her back, further supports this.

The consistent focus on her phone is already a major hint, but this panel from Chapter 2 I think is a strong piece of evidence.
https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/our_love_is_disgusting_ch02#14

Upon hearing of Remu’s interest in her co-worker, there’s an intense focus on Niji tapping away on her phone, to which she later asks Remu to continue telling her about this person. When you reread this after reading the following chapters, It really seems like she’s collecting information on this girl and what Remu thinks of her in general.

This is no doubt her or at the very least related “hidden fetish” which she was heavily implied to have along with our other MCs
https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/our_love_is_disgusting_ch01#2

There’s another ominous panel, where Niji immediately concludes that Remu's coworker is 23.
https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/our_love_is_disgusting_ch03#8

This is a little more speculative, but I surmise that Niji correctly “guessed” Azuki’s age upon hearing Remu vaguely liken her age to her step-sister, who also happens to be 23. I think this can be taken as another hint to her encyclopedic and maybe even off-putting knowledge of Remu and everything related to her.

In that same chapter, we have this off-putting line by Niji.
https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/our_love_is_disgusting_ch03#13

Clearly, Niji is shocked when Remu responds in a way she wasn’t anticipating, deeming it as “wrong.”

Something similar comes up again a chapter later
https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/our_love_is_disgusting_ch04#19

Not only was she disappointed in Remu not joining her, she clearly expected her to follow suit, once again deeming it as “the wrong line.”

People have theorized that there’s a specific script that Niji wants Remu to follow that matches up with her expectations. This is clearly indicative of possessive behavior, but I also think it’s a bit more than that.

I bring up this panel from Chapter 5, where Niji claims that this isn’t the first time Remi has ordered a 10 scoop ice cream bowl, with ominous framing.
https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/our_love_is_disgusting_ch05#20
https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/our_love_is_disgusting_ch05#21

People have interpreted this as a Niji gaslighting Remu, but I don’t think that’s the case. If you look at page 20, there’s once again a focus on Niji’s phone on a side panel to the left, right before she says that Remu has indeed ordered that before.

Therefore, with everything else taken into account, I believe Niji has been secretly recording conversations with Remu, constantly playing them back to herself and gaining an eerily encyclopedic knowledge of Remu, to the point of being able to recount things that Niji herself does not remember.

When Remu responds in a way that doesn’t match Niji’s expectations, she’s clearly startled because according to her encyclopedic knowledge of Remu, she “shouldn't” have responded that way, since it contradicts everything she thinks she knows about Remu.

Whether or not this obsession with Remu is born out of love, infatuation, or some other thing, is still blurry. People have brought up that she may be acting as a sort of possessive mother towards Remu, seeing how she’s often referred to as “Niji-mama” by their friends, wanting to preserve her “innocence”. But either way, it’s definitely some fetish directly related to or involving Remu.

Come on guys, you're being too hard on Niji. She hasn't done anything that bad yet.

By the way folks, I'm taking bets on how many more chapters until Niji stabs someone. I give her 3.

(this post is a joke)

Meguru's an interesting case: Emotionally, she's intelligent but immature. To expand on the glucotic interpretation:
She's portrayed as a recluse, shying emotional connections: she bonded with Azuki over Anime and is still a loyal fan many years later, very family-dependent (she's a working adult yet decided to move along with her mother) and unlike Remu she doesn't seem to have any other friends (but likes Remu's...), yet simultaneously, she's outgoing (initiating contact with Azuki then and now) and not categorically opposed to socialising.

She's clearly appalled by sex and being seen as an object of erotic desire and tries to somehow unite that with her desire for platonic intimacy searching comfort in her plushie (who will "never betray" her) whilst choosing to believe Azuki was merely lusting after her which she knows is counterfactual.

I think she's an asexual of the sex-repulsed kind but more importantly the sort of "you're so mature for your age"-girl that turned into a woman wishing to be a child again clinging to some "lost innocence"; we don't know how much of a broken home she hails from, but it did end in divorce after cheating.

I'm taking bets on how many more chapters until Niji stabs someone.

Nah, I don't see that coming. She's more of a strangler.

I'm on the fence regarding whether Meguru could be ace or simply traumatized by what went on with her dad cheating but "girls coping with trauma in extremely maladaptive ways" definitely seems like it could be turning into a shared theme between her, Remu, and Komugi.

You got that right. I was expecting this to get dark, but to think she was capable of ... Real Person Fiction! (horror shriek) She didn't even change the names!

Joking aside, it was expected to be semi-delusional mal-adaptive coping to her circumstances, and now we get a better idea of what her specific circumstances are. I look forward to seeing what she does about things when she finds Remu doesn't fit with her impression of her. Will she back fill the twist into her fiction and pretend she knew it all along? Will she double down and go off the rails on insisting her imaginings to be reality?

I can relate to Niji because it's my coping mechanism writing fictional stories between romance of characters, whether a)fictional or b) non-fictional.

But Niji is a little different, I suppose. She seems to be really into Remu, really really into. The stories that she wrote is as if she's like creating a world of how she wanted it to supposedly be,and how she wants Remu to turn out to be, or acted to be in her script writing.

But I think she might be a little too obsessed with her own world and dreamt that those scenes actually act out in her mind, or that how Remu reacted.

I wonder why she starts writing stories about her love to Remu. Was it purely just to post them in the fiction site for people to read, and that Remu was just her material or muse to write? And that later it became a little twisted because Niji seems not able to differentiate between her real world and her creation world

p.s. I know people who read the latest chapter will find Niji's love disgusting. It's like she's imagining a whole new world of a Remu and her on another world and how they react to each other within the given scenes Niji has designed to..

You make a good point with the "She seems to be really into Remu, really, really into" part. The way the story is unfolding, along with the cliffhangers, the author makes it so we can feel unsettled by this realization and view it in a creepy way. But as you mentioned, Niji seems to be genuinely into Remu, and her behavior, especially her crashing towards her, is presented in an obsessive way. However, as you suggested, it might just be Niji's coping mechanism to feel a bit closer to Remu. That's how I interpreted it, and if that's the case, Usui Shio's writing and presentation of the story are really well done. But feel free to correct me if I'm wrong; I sometimes misinterpret things. ^_^

The main thing that's weird about Niji is that she's posting it online. Otherwise we have someone with slightly unusual sexual preferences who's overfocusing on someone who's not interested her, like many lesbians have done at some point. Arcane was talking about how the characters' issues are related to how they respond to anti-gay prejudice (the type of love that's seen as disgusting), which is still true with this update.

The failing to distinguish between the Remus is also strange, but without that it would never really impact Remu. It's the twist we need for her to be sufficiently weird to be a manga character. It's also not new information, but this update we find out that at least she is still aware there is a difference.

Everyone x Therapy is the best pairing in the series

Being unable to distinguish fantasy from reality is very dangerous. Niji is obsessed and super delusional.
I’m worried how she’ll react when she finds out about Remu and Azuki (I’m 99% sure her finding out is gonna be a plot point).

Also dreading Meguru finding out bout Remu’s secret, which I know will happen, cuz when has smthn like that not happened with these kinds of stories??

Niji got a lot more sympathetic to me this chapter, as we see how her fiction is a coping mechanism for an unpleasant life entirely outside her control. She seems like a pretty normal queer teenager to me tbh, while I wasn't this girl in school I knew a couple just like her. And she's not fully delusional or incapable of separating fiction from reality, she draws the distinction herself in the classroom, reminding herself that Remu's not tired because the events of her story. While she's almost certainly due for a very unpleasant crash due to Remu's private life clashing so badly with Niji's fiction, I didn't see anything the chapter indicating she's dangerous or unhinged or anything like that. I think it's possible for her to adapt and get through it. Maybe she's even the author insert lol, her fate will be to write Remu and Azuki's story.

Edit: another positive sign for Niji is Remu's reaction to learning about Azuki and Meguru's past and reacting with a fairly high amount of emotional intelligence and empathy. She accurately puts the pieces together based on how well she knows both people and chooses a path to care for the feelings of both, keeping the secret because she knows neither of them will like hearing it. Remu is legitimately Niji's close friend, so I think she stands a pretty good chance of not reacting badly to leaning about Niji's writing and treating her like a freak and pushing her away. I don't think we have any reason right now to think Remu will treat Niji like Meguru treated Azuki.

Remu is at least the character least likely to react badly to someone posting this type of fiction about her online. She is fairly carefree and accepting. She also probably prefers this to someone thinking she's strange or bad.

The real question is how Niji reacts to Remu not being interested in her romantically. Remu might like that a lot less, especially if there's a risk of "rival" Azuki being negatively impacted. Anger has a way of making normally reasonable people become unhinged.

It's interesting that all three nonRemus are using models to represent someone in a way that isn't accurate to the real person, while Remu is using Azuki and her models in a way that doesn't validate how Azuki relates to the models. Remu seems to realize some of this, but can't think of anything better to do.
