Honestly, Haru's backstory kind of reminds me of Kumai Yako from "Utagoe wa Mille-Feuille" though I am enjoying this manga a lot more than I did that anime.

This kind of feels like an “Ado meets YoruKura” kinda series and I’m definitely not complaining about it.

Plot-wise this is feeling pretty generic for me. I liked when Hikari joined as another person for the main two to interact with, it seemed like there were more opportunities for interesting character dynamics, but the sister introduction is feeling kind of generic again. I'll keep reading, but I'm not super excited about this one.

i'm not saying this is intended or a perfect parallel but a girl who is ashamed of her deep voice which she believes doesn't match her appearance, hides in a literal closet "practicing" her voice, and fears ending up "back in my closet" if her voice isn't good enough, seems easy to read in a certain way shall we say

I first heard Emily Armstrong's singing in Dead Sara (not heard anything from them since Em joined LP), especially the tracks Sorry For It All and Weatherman.

Ok, so I'm not the only one with that impression. I tried giving the series a go but it feels like the author thought out the whole story but didn't bother giving it some... pizzaz? I don't know how to explain, but it feels like they're just going through the motion and the whole thing feels generic.

Also agree, glad the author didn’t use cheap forced drama or anything, but everything also just kind of feels too easy. Character sets out to do thing > does thing > next plot point > rinse and repeat.

Yeah, I gotta agree with the generic criticism. Also I imagined something way deeper than Ado for some reason, like, Ado is incredible, but not really where my brain goes when I think of a deep female singer, lol

Manga divorce is always insane, you're lucky if one parent sticks around with the kids afterwards. I don't recall ever seeing both of them remain a presence.

Loved the series until ch17. Having the sister be mean is so cliché, I felt immediately bored as soon as she told Haru to not drag her sister down. Especially “don’t tell her I was here” like COME ON. I felt like the Haru I had been reading for 16 chapters WOULD tell Yuu about Miyuki showing up
