The intensity of the music panels is truly something else.

"It wasn't a date, we didn't even hold hands" over a panel fo the girls holding hands, yesssssssssss.

I really appreciate how seriously this takes its own premise and the emotional stakes of that premise.

Also, instead of needing to grow closer, the pair need to hold on even as social expectations try to pull them apart. It's a neat reversal of the romance formula.

Feels like the first act of a longer story, with a happily ever after hastily stapled on.
