Why do you believe "we wanted to bridget to be transgender earlier but felt we couldn't" to mean "bridget was never meant to be transgender until now". Do you have some sort of condition where seventeen monkeys hit your skull with hammers? Why do you believe a character being [secretly male and then later realizing they're female means they weren't confused before]?
You bring up writers intent and then say "well we'll never know their intent and that's why I'm arguing this" despite famously the creators coming out to clarify their intent.

First, that zero replies were made that addressed the only thing(s) I actually solicited in my orginal comment. Not even in tandem with criticisms or attacks. Do people just not do hypotheticals? Bridgette conforming into the gender that was assigned to by their parents is problematic. Not only does this peddle the forced feminization & groomer narrative but Bridgette looking & dressing as a female while being male was also a positive message about freedom to express yourself however you want no matter gender as well as a positive pro-trans message. It's a damn shame people are too afraid to discuss this stuff cuz someone people will assume it's just transphobia, way too many discussions have been shut down that way & shutting down discussions can only do harm. Your idea with the twin was a much better way to include a trans individual if they really wanted to. I'm glad you weren't afraid to have this discussion. I really just made an account just to thank you cuz it's so rare to see someone not be afraid of being called a transphobe.

To reiterate my past preemptive agreement with MrEngenious (whose behest to not continue this any further I am wantonly defying): Guilty Gear is a mess that deals with a plethora of issues as ankle-deep as you'd expect from an arcade fighting game. (Let's see: Aba's abuse is played for laughs, Dizzy's age, the entire Sol/Jack-O situation was icky iirc, and much, much more.)

Just because Bridget could have been handled better does not mean it was made with malicious intent (methinks much to the contrary). It's "bad representation" in quality, not faith.

At the same time the apparent paranoia over transphobia here flabbergasts me when "insistently casting somebody into the wrong gender based on arbitrary superficial factors is messed up" should be something GNC and transgender populations (who aren't disjunct, btw) can agree on. We're in the same goat, and I promise you don't have to search long to find actual transphobia on the net.

Always immediately assuming the worst intentions as I did mere paragraphs ago gets you nowhere except backwards fast as people are afraid to attempt queer representation in the first place, ask genuine questions or bring forth criticism.
