Damnnnn feels, T-T, fair point even if she knows it's a losing battle, atleast she gave herself the closure she will need to move on from the "what if's"? Alsooo finally!! Our sweet potato knowing who is her real crush can make a turning point on her view to the other mc and rizzz her more unconsciously XD. Also here is to hoping long haired mc girl finally move on from her love to her cousin. T-T.

P.s I really love her advices in this chapter.

Yup. A reader with properly calibrated yuri goggles would've caught on early, but Shouko going for a T for Tenri instead of R for Ryo confirmed it. I'm always sad to see a wincest ship crash and burn, of course, but at the same time I'm glad her aspirations are well and truly crushed instead of being trapped in painful ambiguity like she has been.

Imma be honest I didn't consider Shouko possibly being in love with Tenri but now reading back Shouko really never seemed that interested in the senpai guy lol

And the secret is out. This one felt obvious to me but it really was all about reading between the lines and of course proper yuri goggles.

I could sense Tenri was her crush since the story didn't seem to care about telling us about the guy but man that's still a great build up + reveal. Shouko talking about how it'd be hard not to love a girl like Tenri, the charm being a T.... I try to avoid incest works out of a personal discomfort but this one is cute and the writing is so human and relatable. I just love how smart and self-aware Yukari is but Shouko still surprises her.

They're cousins, not even necessarily first cousins, it's not very incest.

It's funny how Shouko waxed poetic about Tenri, only to have the tables turned on her with Yukari extolling her in turn. I wonder if Shouko herself realizes what this meant, after the current crisis is over?

It's all relative, as they say.

I mean, pseudo-incest is a tag mostly because there are people who get distressed over a piece of paper somewhere saying two strangers are now "sisters". Shared DNA certainly isn't going to be relevant in a schoolgirl yuri work, either. For the purposes of squick and prejudice, any reality on the ground is secondary to whether it can be labeled "incest".

I genuinely don't see why anyone even thought she could have liked Sanjou. She's barely even talked about him and the focus was always on Tenri.

Also, I find it fascinating and engaging that those five chapters have been mostly focused on Shouko getting over her feelings for another girl. It's not unique, but still uncommon enough that a story acknowledges and respects that idea of the love interest loving someone else before the main pair really starts getting closer, and it makes future development feel a lot more earned thanks to the deeper characterization of Shouko, over the somewhat traditional "fated pairing" love story.

Ah, people have varying levels of familiarity with the genre. It's not a reason to be confused at them; that can come off as rude. I clocked it in the first chapter, but that's cause I read a looot of yuri, and am a fan of incest yuri, so that stuff wasn't a mental block for me to get over.

"Pseudo-incest" can still be a real problem, not because of "piece of paper" but because of being in a family and possible power relations and difficulty disentangling. Like in Citrus, Yuzu and Mei met at 15? older? they may be stepsisters, but they're not really sisters the way adopted small kids could be. OTOH, they do share parents (well, parent) now, and a home (even a bedroom), and Mei is basically living with Yuzu's mom since her dad is AWOL... so if their romance blew up, things could get really awkward, and Mei would be a minor trapped with two potentially hostile relatives.

(Or not so trapped, given her rich grandfather, but work with me.)

Or for a similar case, https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/a_love_smeared_in_ashes Again, very late adoption case, but the adoptive/half-sisters having a romance would be playing with fire if anything goes wrong. (Though I guess these actually share do share some paternal DNA.)

And of course if someone's adopted very young, then emotionally they basically are siblings, even without sharing DNA.

My point being, "pseudo-incest" can be about real issues, not just pearl-clutching. Though of course it can also be a way of getting incest thrills without it being 'real'.

There've been a weird amount of incesty yuri things I've read lately lol

Also totes think Tachibana knows Yukari has a thing for her after that convo and her reactions to the questions.

Also Yukari basically confessed to her while giving her confidence and not wanting to see her fake/pained smile.

Also yeah outside of even the T charm it's been obvious the entire time she was talking about her cousin any time she's talked about her to Yukari she's blushing etc.

Sweet home Alabama it is.
