Now getting serious, one of the early things that caught me about this one despite me hating anything even remotely ntr is how it presented the way different people act with different partners and the subtle background storytelling...one can make an argument Yuni is being way more honest when she's with Nanase... She used to be so set on being the cute and demure, wait at home gf but she's not that. She's harsh and badmouthed and assertive and she was always like that with Fuuko and after the meltdown she's been more like that with... Everyone.

These are all terrible people, but from worst to worse, and worse to only bad... Fuuko and Yuni help bring up the "better" in each other way more than Yuni and Nanase ever could.

Nanase and Yuni were in a relationship for 6 months before Fuuko came along and ONLY NOW is Nanase learning about Yuni's family life?

Nothing will justify cheating but, these are just two girls who got caught up in the moment and THOUGHT they were in love, when in reality neither of them is interested in the other outside of their physical traits.

The timing is horrible but had there been an alt time for Yuni and Fuuko to meet in a less convoluted way we would have any other hurt comfort series around here... But that would not be this story haha.

Cuz again as horrible as the subject matter may be, this is hella entertaining. And we are just entering the grooming territory, this story is about to get worse.

The good thing is we’d get to a point where nobody else would have to die because the death penalty would act as a deterrent. It would get tough to determine based on lack of legal contracts for relationships between teenagers such as the ones depicted in this work, but maybe we could expand already existing processes of corporate arbitration and estate law. I think it’s worth a try

I had all kinds of speculation about their backstory, but "Fuuko got cheated on" is somehow simultaneously the most obvious possible backstory and the one I didn't think of. Maybe we are moving toward "Fuuko and Nanase both cheat on Yuni" to bring this full circle.

This did look more like it was done to get a reaction out of Fuuko, maybe due to Fuuko ignoring her, and to get Fuuko to pursue Mashiro more. I wonder if Fuuko disengaged at that point or if there's more to this. She managed to disengage somehow, seemingly without ever resolving their relationship officially, or else they would have been in contact when the story started.

I am enjoying their whole dynamic of how Mashiro constantly insults Fuuko while doing things that draw her in. I would 100% read a series of that. It also contrasts a lot with Fuuko approached Yuni, as Fuuko was using many of Mashiro's tactics, but with Yuni there is this aspect of emotional caretaking that Fuuko has never received from anyone. That's why Fuuko wanted to provide it to someone else.

"Senpai" > Mashiro > Fuuko.
Fuuko used money as power over Yuni, but that did not quite as effective. You can still see where Fuuko's M.O. is from.

I wonder if Senpai exited the picture for Mashiro (eg, graduated and cut Mashiro off) and that's why Mashiro is back pursuing Fuuko. If she was expecting that, that could explain why she wanted Fuuko in her school that much. It's not clear what is the extent of the relationship with Senpai.

Yuni-chan reaaally could've been more slick with this...

I just caught up and I gotta say, of all the characters thus far (besides maybe the new one) I hate Nanase the most. She just... doesn't understand anything. She promises to not let Yuni be lonely anymore and two chapters later she is abandoning her day after day to go do sport stuff that isn't even the Club.

Yuni tried to make concessions, tried to be okay with Club still being a thing, and Nanase managed one whole chapter of being a good girlfriend who goes on dates and actually spends time with the girl she supposedly loves... and then disappeared again.

It really pisses me off, and I hope Yuni ends up leaving her. Because every time they are together, Nanase just fucks up again into making Yuni feel unloved and alone. Agh.

Nanase doesn't seem to understand anything about her girlfriend, not how lonely she feels in life, not how little she has compared to her, not her lack of meaningful friendships. And what's worse is she doesn't even try to understand, she jusr says I CAN WORK HARDER! Like an idiot shounen protagonist.
