I never thought I'd look like manga protagonist, let alone one share their experiences, but damn it's kinda refreshing.

This one was cute! The notes about how Sal Jiang drew this comic completely analog was super neat too. Really incredible work..

The attention to detail is so cool!! Thanks for preserving that and telling us about it!

Really interesting how this is the only non-toxic comic in the anthology, especially from Sal Jiang

When it comes to depictions of fat women in gl Sal Jiang is the only one that sort of get's it right. Hell this is now the 2nd story I have saved in my favorite adult life stories list that features a fat protagonist, the other one is by the same author.

This doesn’t seem like it fits well with the anthology’s lowlife and “women at the height of rudeness” theme since this one is more wholesome and not really trashy at all. I was definitely expecting a more toxic relationship like the other ones, especially since Sal Jiang does a lot of that kinda stuff. Still a great story though for sure, and I’d be interested in reading a sequel where they actually get together or something

I absolutely adore Sal Jiang’s work. She portrays women with so much care and depth. And I’m not assuming anything about her sexuality when I say this, I mean that she clearly loves women in the way she draws and writes them.

Her art doesn’t center on just one “type” of female. You see women of different races, body types, personalities, and ages throughout her work, and that’s something I deeply appreciate.

I also suspect Sal has at least some classical figure drawing experience and a lot of real world observation, as in my experience the artists I see who have the best and broadest character type roster just really love watching and drawing people. Or in this case, women ;)

Wow, I've been waiting forever for Sal Jiang's contribution to this collection. Other people already said it, but I wasn't expecting hers to be the least toxic one of the bunch... As much as I would've liked to see something truly revulsive, I liked this on its own merit. It's cute.

Looking at the dates, I guess this is a rather early work for all of them. Long before Black & White for sure.

Oop looks like maybe a love triangle at the end, with our leading woman starting to crush on a woman she knows is already crushing on another woman, time for poly or something lol

Anyhow this was nice, thanks for the translation!

Awesome, this is the four original one-shot on the chubby tag that has a “real” fat woman. I wish it was toxic like the others, still cute and good tho.

Yes Sal Jiang!! I knew she was happy to draw fat women in some circumstances, since she'd done so for background characters (e.g. Hiroko's hookups in Ayaka is in Love with Hiroko) but I was always afraid it'd only be background characters. So happy to be wrong in that fear!!

Right! I think it’s probably less formal training and more sharp observation. Some artists just spend a ton of time watching how people (cough, cough woman) move and carry themselves, and that builds a really strong visual library over time.
