I got that part. the text really seems to be implying something awful is gonna happen but Alice isn't acting particularly out of character? Is the story implying Marisa is actually gonna get eaten??

aaand its the best one. I absolutely adore this origin story for Marisa. something about the idea of the witch earnestly cooking up her half-baked poisons really gets to me. I think there's something to be said about the prerequisites to become a witch there but I can't think of it.

marisa as a mercenary is hilariously common. I can't hate it, her characters adaptability makes it a good fit.

Hm, mid-tier Zounose, I'd say. A fairly decent concept (how human-youkai relationships have changed), but wrapped up in a lot of nonsense (food) that distracts from the main point

calling food nonsense in a Zounose doujin is like doing the same in chainsaw man. its kinda missing the point.

wow, sakuya made a real bad trade here huh~? This is the only time that I actually thought "maybe the author just wanted to draw Sakuya with a rad prosthetic leg." that's how little I felt invested in the core conflict. boy was I wrong. until the shot of Remilia crying I honestly didn't get what this was going for at all. I'm always here for an immortals anguish though.
10/10 Seems Sarai only ever missed once.

that aside, the insight into chimata's view of the other deities was a very interesting position to view gensokyo from, and not one we see very often. god this author is good.

How rare. These stories don't usually portray eating a human that way. usually its a joke or some grim spectacle. I don't think I've seen Sarai depict it as an affirmation of one's existence, as a meal. that was really interesting

Interesting! I always like what this weirdo does with gensokyo as a setting. I kept expecting Sanae to intervene. I personally think that something like this can work quite well, from time to time.

I quite like Yakumi Sarai's depiction of "parental gods" there's something about them introducing Sanae to these horrible customs in a calm reasoned way that is very dissonant with itself. makes for a very good emotional kick.
