This was supposed to be 20 chapters from the start, right? Why does this feel so rushed then… I guess the angel thing was kind of foreshadowed since people thought she was an angel (although I didn’t figure that out on my own), but this still seems weird. Obviously, Mai isn’t actually dead, but this still seems pretty weird. Still a good story overall though.

Yeah the angel reveal was hinted at a little bit, but 99% of it was just dropped on us suddenly this chapter so it feels super rushed unfortunately

Anyone else think the angel looks like Ariel from "I'm an Elite Angel, But I'm Troubled By an Impregnable High School Girl"? I thought it was a crossover by the same person for a second

It been a while since I look into this thread and manga.

Lily went back to hell and Mai get's to live until she dies of old age. She remains unmarried for the rest of her life yearning after what she lost. Due to taking Lily's ring, after dying she ends up in hell where the two are reunited. Now the duo have to fight daemons together to escape the 9 circles of hell

The warm-heart shoujo style now has evolved and turn into a shonen shoujo love story filled with fighting and romance lol (Kind of similar of the shonen shoujo theme style manga that MC of undead unluck read)

Though I wonder if hell is really that harsh of a place to live in (probably very hot weather though...Actually that might be MC's personal hell...Not allowed to eat ice-cream or parfaits due to the hot temperate melting them all...), I mean devils can probably give special treatment for their contractee right possibly?

Well that was fucking random
Also WYM NEXT CHAPTER IS THE LAST?!?!?!?! Im not prepared!!!

Like...For real didn't expect to see bus-kun here of all places

I don't think anyone is prepared for the random AXE coming and bus-sama/Bus-kun coming out of nowhere...I think I remember some events in some other manga where bus-kun killed off a love interest of some other romance manga (forgot name) randomly which shock the audience.

Don’t let the Doomed Yuri distract you from the fact that they fucked offscreen.
This is way worse than truck-kun. Once the next chapter is out that cliffhanger is defanged forever, but we'll never get that sex scene.

Unless they spend half of the last chapter having sex in the hospital, but I doubt that will be the case. Instead we're just going to get the weirdly jumbled and hasty conclusion of this plot point and the angel reveal.

also....Welp RIP to the poor gooners wanting the SEGGS scene (JkJKJK, they not gooners...I think but if they are then go Goon with pride!!!...No, wrong term, it is the long lost term that people have not been using...Person/people of CULTURE!!! XD).

At least they had SEGGS off screen...I think (RIP if not lol...). I would have been fine with a fade to black then reveal to cuddle and some comments about how Cute MC was or how much of a TOP that MC was or something but detail on a yuri-scene would be nice for yuri fans that want to witness the full details of their love and passion.

I think I remember one comment in the early pages complaining about them not getting to SEGGS scene already (reader misremembering or misthinking the relationship been going on for many months despite the relationship being initial early stage few months at most.) which I thought was a bit irrational at the time considering MC was still not mentally prepared and they were still only maybe 1-3 months into their relationship at that chapter time...but perhaps it was best to rush after all lol...You can never underestimate Bus-kun/Sama to suddenly try to Isekai you....Though author definitely was teasingly the readers many few times lol like with drunk succcubi passing out and falling asleep.

Though imagine the author making the reader/audience wait 3-5 whole years (both IRL and in story progress) for the main couple to actually have SEGGS...there are actually authors that does that and some of the readers even try to justified and claim that it was totally natural and nothing wrong there (I consider it to be natural and fine if the couple young and under 18...start dating like 13-14 but nope those couples were like 20-22+ in age.)

Good story overall, though had some rush parts here or there like some comment claim.

Sad to see it will finally end next chapter but hopefully author can pull out a decent final ending for chapter 20. Would love for another 5-10 more chapters but eh it's the author choice in the end or perhaps not if their story got Axed or something.

this was such a sweet (hehe) series. v happy they got to have their happy ending, but honestly the fact that lili came back immediately and there wasn't really any downsides makes me wonder why chapter 19 happened at all. like i get that she lost her devil powers and all that but they really didnt play a huge role in the story outside of the first couple of chapters in the first place. either way i really enjoyed this one and I hope the author does more yuri in the future

Yeah the whole angel and devil aspect feels super rushed these last two chapters, along with the SUDDENLY A TRUCK!, all for it to basically amount to nothing. Is one of the protags an angel? Who knows? Who cares? One of the protags was a devil and now she's not, oh well I guess! It's frustrating how those aspects feel very tacked on. They only alluded to sex and never showed anything like that, while effectively wasting our time with the accident and Angel + Devil elements. It leaves me feeling somewhat frustrated when we could have simply gotten more cute couple moments and intimacy to wrap up the series on a more solid note instead.

Ah well, I'm glad they at least got a happy ending together. Thanks for the translation it's been an adventure!

Welp... That marks the last chapter TvT
I absolutely adored reading this and will for sure come back to rereading once I buy all 4 volumes.
hope to see some original art of them on the author socials, but then again the author deserves a lot rest after finishing a series. :)

Sweet ending. Truck-kun didn't seem intended to be that serious to me, so I wasn't bothered or surprised that it was used mostly as a joke. No chance of a sad ending. Loved this series. Think it's one I'll reread from time to time. Didn't realize this is the same author as Girl's Arcadia, so that's new.

I'm so glad this was a happy and wholesome ending!! Truck-kun had me really worried.

But I'm still so sad that it's over and even sadder that their fun times happened off screen and was just one panel

I enjoyed that, though Ch19 did stand out as a little "different" to the rest.

Did not like the ending, I could see they were going for a statement on love and sacrifice, but it played poorly with all the little things that made the manga great. A lot of what the story spent time on was getting used to the little quirks of your lover, so to just erase her devil side felt at odds with what came before. The dramatic action didn’t have the measured groundedness and consequent intimacy that animated the manga, and almost felt like it was saying that kind of thing wasn’t important enough for a finale. The subtle hints of angel heritage felt a lot better than an explicit confirmation with full on flashback backstory. Sometimes things just work better in your setting notes and don’t have to be said.

I think the subtlety of this manga is part of what made it great, and with such a dramatic event, so much dust is kicked up that it obscures that strength. i really think we could have gotten a legendary ending using the same delicate care to tie everything together, and it would have been great. Honestly even leaving the story with the two of them partially cohabitating and lily going off to work may have been a better ending.

It makes me reflect for my own writing whether a standard dramatic action finale is even appropriate. You can justify it to yourself as an author by casting choices in the heat of the moment as a crystallization of all your characters’ discussion of love, but I wonder if it isn’t better to finish with the same strengths in writing that carried the story thus far. Much to consider.

So I liked the series overall, and I can see what the plan for the ending was, but it's kind of comedic how it was implemented. yay they're happily together and have gotten over their hangups how nice! OH NO A TRUCK! yay everything's fine and Lily only sacrificed the demon part of her soul yipee!

Like I don't dislike it, it's still a very sweet series but wow is this ending clunky lmao.

Focusing on this part specifically:

Yeah that's one of the aspects I dislike the most about this ending, and I think you worded it well. A lot of the interesting narrative aspects for both Lily and her falling in love with a human was the elements of her devil side, and everything she had to deal with there. Plus those parts made their relationship uniquely fun. Un-Deviling her feels cheap in my opinion.

I give credit to this author for trying something out of their comfort zone. Was it a tad clunky in the resolution? Yes, but it still had logic, would have been better with few more chapters to make it hit more and to get more of the whole angel thing, but overall it was a good try to add supernatural flavor to a sweet manga. 8/10, still would enjoy reading it again!

Agreeing with all of this but it doesn't really surprise me sadly.
Unfortunately a lot of these types of stories in general are very human-centric and end in the character "becoming human" in some way because that's viewed as the height of being a person which like...sucks?

It also results in the unfortunate implication of non-humans being "lesser" in some way than humanity which has always rubbed me the wrong way, this is also probably why there's a lot of weirdness around transhumanism but that's a whole different debate unrelated to this, all it really comes down to is a lot of authors unfortunately falling into "being like the majority good, being different bad"

A perfect way to end the series even after the rushed development of the previous chapter.

Nice to see Truck-kun's usual job called out as well. :D

It's not even just that. 95% when you have some sort of character quirk that's the main obstacle in these stories and the "character development" is to overcome that, ie "become normal" - and boring; you don't even have to be supernatural. It's one of those things that can really get on my nerves, and why unapologetic characters like ie in Ikoku Nikki stand out so much (and also demonstrating that they can still have character development at the same time).

Either way; yeah, last chapter feels manufactured to get this human-ending, which I suppose is to solve the potential issues. But as others mentioned I doubt any reader was reading this thinking "oh no it's such an obstacle that she's a succubus how will they fix this" so there's no real satisfaction from "solving" it ^^#
