This is a mess

So many theories and predictions how this manga will turn into het, conversion therapy, no yuri, misogynist, etc. When its about a teacher having to deal with students who are teenagers(hell). All these conflicts with her students will probably be used to make her reflect on her ‘unrequited’ 10 year-old teenage love. I understand the concern about misogyny but it wouldn’t be the first not the last yuri with it, for me it’s not really a problem as I think you can always get more than just the negative parts from a story but I understand if for others if it is a problem. But this is too much fuss for a manga that barely has three chapters

"Boys Gilding the Lily Shall Die!?" got here. People can get very hostile very quickly, even for otherwise very good and very popular yuri series. Give it and the author a little bit of grace.

that's funny you mention that series cuz i remember that someone said this series had over 100 chapters and the two female leads still hasn't progressed romantically.

They'd be wrong and that series has a lot of couples but that's the kind of thing people would say, which is why I mentioned it. A very popular and long running yuri series got a similar reception to this one with very few chapters TLd and for similarish reasons (which is partly why the TL said they dropped it). At least that one has an ongoing official release.

For some reason, I have a feeling this series is going to hit me hard (Emotionally), it feels like it's going to get pretty heavy.

also kinda random but im not a huge fan of dynasty's comment ui, i wish there were separate sections dedicated to the specific chapters like in other manga sites :>

Good lord this could all be fixed if the teacher had a spine. Also these kids have seemingly no respect for the teacher whatsoever. I hope this gets fixed asap

yeah lol the kids were getting on my nerves, like god i hate nosy people in general but god i felt so irked out. Like bro, thats your teacher?? An adult?? Also I wanna say I agree with you, but the kids here are just weird. Teacher just seems like the really forgiving, slight pushover type. I cant really bring myself to blame her. I find it admirable to not even think to squash that way of thinking when its ripe for like, any possible negative human attribute.

Wow, I admit that I was pretty annoyed last chapter by this whole misunderstanding BS, so I am very glad that it actually got resolved in one chapter. Those students were still being completely unreasonable, but at least one of them apologized and Nakanishi didn’t make things worse. Tadokoro is still being unreasonable by asking Kaede to stay away from Itaoka and all, but an apology is more than I expected… and nice, the letter sender has been revealed.

Based on how the MC is seemingly taking the high ground here, it seems unlikely that Nakanishi has a chance with her.

Lets fucking GOOOOOOO! I knew it, i've had this story figured minute one baybeeeee.

But on a more serious note. Interesting correction on Kaede having been in love with Nami for ten years before she confessed and then she got rejected and then at some point afterwards they got together anyway. Maybe they met again when they both became teachers here and that gave Nami an as of yet ill fitting chance to do better by Kaede. Who knows.

With the way they talk about it and how Nami comments that if only Kaede would have just said something it does seem like things are more cleared up than it looked like. But there's still something simmering.

Also Nakanishi has been revealed to be the writer, and Oda to be her accomplice. I do wonder how things will go from here, because Kaede revealing she's already in a relationship with Nami is looking less likely now, but it would be an easy way for further developments to happen.

And ultimately, her relationship with Nami still isn't quite steady after the bomb of chapter 1. Looking forward to seeing more.

This makes things clearer, still bitter about how students treated her but some of them have apologized. Now I'm really looking forward to next chapters!

Turns out it is a student who has a sincere heart writing a love letter to profess her love to her teacher.
She even said sorry,and asked her teacher not to acknowledge her,and that hope her teacher and the other teacher got together happily (which she has mistaken)

I was fighting on the front lines of the "Boys Gilding the Lily Shall Die!?" war here and God were those arguments extremely frustrating lol. There's a paranoia among a subset of yuri fans that any yuri story might end het if there's even a semi-prominent male character who isn't immediately signposted as not a threat (because he's abusive or a himedanshi), and while I understand this paranoia due both to societal lesbophobia and misogyny and the existence of yuribait works such as Amanchu or Hibike Euphonium, it can lead to extremely uncharitable interpretations of manga like this one.

While there are criticisms to make of this manga -- though I think this new chapter went a fair way toward addressing most of them -- I can't see it possibly ending het. It might not necessarily end with Kaede/Nami, but Kaede won't end up with a man, I can pretty much guarantee that.

Personally, I was hoping it would be Nakanishi-san, her character seems really interesting and mysterious. She always shows up whenever something happens. But since we're only at Chapter 4 and we don't know how far the author plans to take the story, what happens next probably won't lead to a happy ending.

It was a mistranslation. They've been dating and are together. They had struggles in their past (largely due to some of the issues the MC discussed this chapter) that are being slowly revisited and contextualized as we deal with other problems at the school. This letter was the first "problem" arc, and once it's done there should be other problem arcs that pop up.

Now that someone mentioned Boys Gilding the Lily Shall Die? It is fun how the reaction to any yuri that breaks the common formula is always the same. Especially because the discourse began quite early too, two chapters and people were already losing their minds. In this neither Kaede nor Nami are with a man and still caused the same reaction.

I think it’s awesome to have a yuri that doesn’t focus on the romance between the two leads.

In addition, at least for me, I think that much of what people call "toxic" between Nami and Kaede is simply, lack of communication in a adult relationship, I know that people hate that trope or find it unrealistic, but I completely disagree.

I also need to say that I really liked Nami’s ‘I’ll be leaving you otherwise’ lol I know it was brutal but there so much more than romance in life, especially adult life.
