How'd she go from girlfailure virgin punk to pulling the Reversal tag like that? Idk why this specifically is what makes my suspension of disbelief waver but like disaster lesbians don't do that shit. Not without substances. I don't care

Re: Gabi's reply: but... so many of the panels are so irrelevant.... but every chapter with the sex is relevant... ohhhh my poor wallet. maybe I'll just return to #piracy like the #halcyon #days

Yeah the way they act this chapter is pushing my suspension of disbelief too. But I like the idea behind how they're acting. Both dropping the mask of agreeability they've been wearing that's been holding them back.
But the change for the MC feels too abrupt and extreme.

From the blushing mess we've seen throughout the earlier chapters...

You can have dominant fantasies while being a shy virgin.

And then maybe get past the shyness through a mix of frustration and someone throwing herself at you.

Like there's activation energy to even asking someone out. But Gotou pressed their boobs together and kissed her. That can push past the activation energy.

Yuri readers: “We want to see the MCs kiss and have sex!”

Kodama: “How do you like me now?”

The mark of a true master, to give you what you exactly what you want, in exactly the way you don't want, with a terrible relentlessness.

I don’t think this was too out of character for Shigisawa. I do t think she was ever that shy, she was just cautious around a married woman. But now she stopped caring about that. She’s apparently trawled lesbian bars with her friend before so I don’t she’s inexperienced, just finally let her inhibitions go.

She’s probably not a virgin, given that she clearly has a bunch of trauma from her ex leaving her to get married. I read it more as her not wanting to be tangled up with another woman who might leave her for a man, especially one who is already married.

I hope she enjoys being sued by her husband.

Jesus, I don't know why, but something about this dynamic is so frustrating. I get why, but they're like, two dropped assumptions and one honest dialogue away from both having exactly everything they want, but Gotou won't just say "I like you and I want to divorce my husband" and Shigisawa won't let go of "She's straight and she's just using me!"

YOU LIKE EACH OTHER. JUST SAY SO YOU F***ING IDIOTS.

Yeah we know that, but they don't. They both fear rejection and feeling helpless, so they preemptively pull back in self defense, and interpret the other also pulling back as proof she doesn't like her. The fact that we've got this final dramatic confrontation, this bold breaching of that gap, is the communication you want, as best as they're able. Dunno why this would still be frustrating for you when it's finally coming out instead of the tragedy continuing unimpeded.

We took one step forward (the communication) and two steps back with this one. You sure she’s JUST trying to use you, or is it more likely she’d rather pay you with her body?

Also we never found out why she even ran away lol

We know why she ran away in spirit, based on the scenes of her interacting with her shithead husband. She doesn't need any more reason than "look at this motherfucker, would YOU want to live with him??"

Those who can read Spanish can read the last two chapters here:

https://zonatmo.com/library/manga/79599/laesposamentirosayladiscusionsobreelmatrimonioentrepersonasdelmismosexo

The story is complete in two volumes, chapter 9 is the conclusion.

Spoiler: Feels a bit rushed, but it's the happiest end ever. (Filled with only good things for everyone -- even the legalization of gay marriage by the Diet!)

Sadly, I bet this charmer is married. His poor wife.

This was a cruel place to end the chapter. Clearly it's not a simple case of "she went back to her husband as she was planning to".
Feels like we're at the end and headed into the epilogue.

Something about this manga gives me the vibes of Kodama fleshing out one of her shorter one shots in the wrong direction…I swear there’s a one shot with a premise of two women who dated in high school, broke up and one got married(?), then they met again randomly and actually hooked up and ended up together. The only difference is in this one it’s more frustrating and unclear how the bisexual woman feels, versus in the one-shot, the bisexual woman was all for leaving her husband.

Then again, wouldn’t be Kodama Naoko without some frustration, now would it?

I actually related a lot to Gotou's words on how hard self-care is when you don't know the first thing about yourself.

I'm confident Kodama Naoko has stepped up her game, this is actually a moderately complex story with moderately tridimensional people and, for once, good dialogue and communicative characters. This is way better than anything she's put out before. She's quite progressed and I'm happy about it

Fuck me, literally first time ever Kodama Naoko actually starts fleshing out a plot and then this happens

And honestly it makes no sense, it should end with both going their separate ways: Blondie returning to her loveless, but socially aceptable, marriage and brunette moving on with her life, I mean that's realistic and human after all

The first part doesn't make sense. Gotou was obviously tired of such a life and seeking to move on. That brunette was still available for her later, well. Story.

Not really sure why it should end that way. Doesn't seem like an issue and that's exactly the opposite of what she'd do based on what's been presented about her character. Divorce is not unrealistic.
