Damn, nice. Ch14 could have been an amazing intro chapter to this series... I wonder, are these chapters new, or has the translation just lagged behind? If they are new, it'd seem to me like the author has improved a lot as a storyteller.

The series has been done for a long time, life has just been nuts. I'm hoping to be more consistent from now on.

I disagree, the cliffhanger is to make us believe she's not going to. And then we'll get the whole confession and afternath in the same chapter.
If anything, due to how previsible fake out are, nowadays they'd try to surprise by having the character say it at the end of a chapter only to come up with a justification why the 2nd character did not hear/misinterpreted or the 1st character to back pedal in the next chapter.

I think it's meant to be ambiguous whether it's just some aggressive smooches on the cheek or something, or actually something more exciting, which is why I didn't bother with an incest tag. But yes, I'd certainly like to think that's what's going on…

If it's not clear: this is the mangaka who used to go to their high school and they are now working as assistants for, and that mangaka's younger sister. I think all the scenes they appear in in volume 2 kind of give the impression that she is super possessive of her older sister and that they are close, but don't exactly make it clear that anything more is going on. Reread pages 1–6 of Ch 16 for the strongest taste of it, I guess.
