I don’t get it? The stuff about seeing her as a toy like that didn’t feel very supported, and didn’t seem to go anywhere. I don’t really understand the point. It kind of felt like they did it just to make it more fucked up? Maybe I’m missing something.

also yeah it didn't really make much sense the "twisted" twist [pun not intended], like you're literally not doing anything, just imagining you're a bad person and doing it for some bad reasons that just exist in your mind? alright

I'm also on the "to make it more fucked up" interpretation, but... They both have reasons that feel wrong to be in that relationship. At the same time they don't actually drag each other down. It's actually unexpectedly wholesome, in a way, more than if one had genuine innocent love and the other not.

Then again, I do rather like Mutually Toxic stories, so there's that !

Fair enough. It's been a very long time since I read some of her work and I guess I kind of forgot it existed after reading —and absolutely loving— some of her newer series, such as Living With My Brother's Wife and The Moon on a Rainy Night.

ohhh thanks for the heads up. i considered joining mangaup when i learned that it was getting simulpubs (now i remember) but i can't really afford it, gotta pay a whole lotta ton of taxes for foreign digital services and the american dollar is already way too expensive here
