So it’s a silly, unrealistic premise executed repetitively—why, it almost sounds like Japanese comedy.

We're only 3 (p short) chapters in, most comedy manga based around a gimmick like this start out just repeating the premise to solidify the foundation before adding story elements or progress. Really not that uncommon.
