I can't say I liked how the whole "surprise, she works here now!" was handled. Why would they let the president feel so heartbroken for no reason?

On Mangadex it says the 15th chapter is the last one… and… really???

That went about as expected, except for suddenly ending just like that. Well, we can all see where it goes from here anyway, but it would still have been nice to see them as an actual couple as well.

I hope some magazine will serialize this...

My big thanks for everyone that worked on the scanlation.

This is a messed up ending. Noa quit her escort job presumably to take up the secretary job, did not bother to tell Amano, leaving the latter heartbroken. Why? For out-of-universe reasons, so that we can have "the reveal" at the end. In-universe, it makes sense only if Noa is a colossal sadist.

Plus, this just puts them in an even more awkward position, now that Amano is literally her boss. Dating people whose continued employment depends upon you is one of the worst decisions you could make in this regard.

Thanks for scanlating this! That's a rough ending, I don't know why but an "ending" like this is way worse (to me) than something like Kitanai Kimi ga Ichiban Kawaii. At least with that I felt something.

Yeah, this really is the worst kind of ending, where there's a ton of things left unsaid and you're just stuck in traffic as a reader (^^) Oh well, big thanks for the translation in any case, this was a fun read !

That’s definitely one of the endings that ever existed.

This feels more like a volume ending than a series ending. Oh well.

If we get just one extra with an after story, then the entire ending will be saved..., however, there's not even a The End on the last page lul.

Bottom right, there's a "fin."

The smallest "fin" imaginable.

Wait this is the ending? I was so excited to see this graduate into an office romance.

I'm so disappointed.

Idk, kinda expecting a continuation where they have a genuine romance arc.

The idea of the ending is good but the execution makes it feel unearned.

I don't think it's quite that bad. It's not unheard of to date your boss, it'll just change the work dynamic, and since they already know each other beforehand they avoid overcoming the initial power gap. A lot of machine shops I've worked at or interacted with have the husband as the CEO and the wife as the secretary/front desk person, which the employment part was the least of the issues in those situations but it still worked out just fine. For them. The shop at large, maybe not so much. Fiction-wise, I think the expectation is they'll treat each other as equals or work it out like Zhu Li and Varrick in Korra.

I personally like to try to pull off surprises like this for/on people, although maybe with a bit more tact. We won't know because of how sparse the ending is, but Noa could have all sorts of reasons for doing this from proving she could get the job on her own to avoiding accusations of nepotism to thinking it could help or teach Amano something. All in all, way too rushed to have a fulfilling end though

It's one thing to fall in love with your boss/employee, another thing for an established married couple to start a business, and yet another (imprudent) thing to hire someone you're barely dating as your employee.

There's not sticking the landing and then there's tripping over your own feet at the end of the balance beam, somersaulting past a bunch of "moves"/information that should have been presented, and then landing flat on your back, upside-down from the judges. I've actually never felt this cheated by an ending before, maybe because it should have been easy to close.

I don't think that the other lady encouraged this thinking Noa would be a particularly secretary-like secretary, just that it would probably keep Amano happy longer if they were working together.

Big shrugs though. The curtains are closed, fantasy power dynamics will never have any consequences in the long run because there is no long run. Even if we are to see anything extra, it's unlikely that they'll even be a major point of interest in the story.

Admittedly, the president didn't hire her, though. Wasn't even aware it would be her until the last moment. So at least this particular sin is not present in this story. Possible even the reason for the secrecy - this way no one can accuse the president of such behavior.
