I know it's in the title and all but I don't really find Makino to be that scummy outside of getting a prostitute, kinda stalking said prostitute, and then falling in love with said prostitute. As to why she chose the playground...the majority of goths usually still love things even when they become adults, and behave so. This is not nostalgia, but genuine interests that never go away as they grow up. Gothic Lolita is just a branch of the subculture. Hence they dress like dolls. A lot of them are also into creepy things such as horror movies, and of course the Addams Family.

I still play with my Barbie dolls to this day, I have a good collection, I am not doing this for anyone else, it is for me myself to have fun.
I hardly wear anything other than black. I used to read Gothic Lolita magazines, starting from Volume one, that was slightly more than 20 years ago, and hard to believe, I still have the figure. My friends and I were actually dressing up like this before the Japanese did, so it was the Japanese who brought the style into main stream. For us, we have to make our own patterns from scratch. Most of us know how to sew. I don't, but I use the serger (Evil Grin).

Yeah I don't think the MC is scummy because she pays for a sex worker, I think sex work is fine. I just think her personality with how she lies and does so while spending money, the way she accepted her sister's hush money, things like that. Yes her sister offered, but accepting it still feels like a pretty iffy thing to do in my opinion. Of course I know some people here disagree with me, and they think the MC is fine. I just don't agree personally haha
