I am not always a fan of pairing the spares, but I think Izumi has suffered enough and Iroha has been one of the most positive influences in her life. I don't think they have all that much in common, but this manga has proven time and again that opposites attract and that even just trying to go a bit towards each other's interests can improve a bond considerably. Also now the option of double dates has opened up, which is far better than having two third wheels!

It has to be said, this manga always has really strong crying scenes. And plenty of them to boot. The way characters always show all their emotions is definitely a strength of the work and one of the most memorable parts.

Is it not [wrapping] rather than [rapping]? I confess I was also very confused when the translation said rap.

It's not a whole miniseries spinoff like Sayaka got from Bloom Into You, but I'll take it. I liked Izumi from the beginning and I always hoped she would get to find her own happiness, doubly so when she and Iroha started properly interacting with each other.

I was surprised this plot line got left dangling after being clearly teased, so it’s nice to see a little closure there

Can I be upset about this being so short despite being the only reason I actually looked forward for updates. Main couple just got boring after like 20 chapters and really wanted to see more of Izumi but this just feels like crumbs for us peasants rip. Thanks for translating it though <3

I wonder if it has anything to do with the origins of the saying,「敵に塩を送る」, which, according to Weblio, was:

(from Uesugi Kenshin sending salt to his enemy, Takeda Shingen, when Takeda's salt supply had been cut off) to save an enemy from trouble instead of taking advantage of their weakness; to show humanity even to one's enemy; to help one's enemy in difficulty

So perhaps Iroha was trying to say that Izumi kindly wrapped up some salt and sent it to Kanade (very literal translation).

Which, of course, just means Izumi stepped aside instead of taking advantage of Kanade/Nanaki at their weakest.

I would assume Iroha is trying to play up just how kind Izumi is.

What's really weird is that it's wearing Izumi's sweater and not Iroha's, or at least that's what it looks like based on the shading.
