Or Re-Kan where the main character, Hibiki, has friends (and a "best" friend who's also a girl wink wink) who knows that she can see ghosts.

Color me amazed. I confess I was certain that the story behind Yuina/Reiko would never be revealed -- that we the readers as well as Hikari would keep wondering about it forever, and that Hikari's botched attempts to find about it would turn into a running joke. It's good to be wrong sometimes.
