It's basically the author buying time via adding another layer of drama, especially since we know the secret will very likely come out eventually anyways.

Their lack of ability to use words feels...excessive. I know finding the words can be hard, especially when nervous but just saying, "I told your secret because I selfishly wanted you to myself", would at least be honest.

This, right fucking here. Fuuko is self-aware enough to know she's oozing jelly from every orifice and she's known Yukiko long enough to have picked up that she's a complete airhead.

Why is everyone cheering on Fuuko? She's a fucking bitch, and I don't like that word but it's the one that fits better. She's possessive, selfish and nothing justifies to hit someone else, even more if it's a friend of yours, you can be angry but never hit. Your friend can have their secrets and you can't get them out of them by hitting.
