Remember, Mai knew it was Asumi, but Asumi didn't have any particular indicator that she had the right one this time. To her it's just another roll of the dice, no more or less likely than any of the other girls she's already hired. Since it's nothing special from her perspective, and she doesn't know Mai is going on vacation, it's not like there's any reason not to just cancel and look after her health.

and there goes any enthusiasm I had for this series. The wait made it lose momentum and getting cucked out of their meetup just killed it for me. I suspected once we got to halfway through the chapter and they weren't meeting up some shit was going to go down so I skipped to the end and... yup, it's a whole lotta nothing

I really hope the next chapter surprises us with a surprise meeting or something. Anything but dragging this out for 5 or 6 more chapters only to end when (if?) their relationship becomes established.

I'm incredibly frustrated that the author went for the incredibly predictable route of dragging this out. Of course we're probably going to have wait months for them too meet, and there was there was misunderstanding at the end "of maybe she cancelled because she realized it was me". So now we have that drama and heartache to clear up, ugh.

Just fuck.
