Ah, but this manga does not assume that everyone has the same level of sexuality during pubescence. Look carefully: Hoshihara, Usa-pyon and Miki are very different characters. Hoshihara is very horny and masturbates often, Usa is very horny but didn't know about the other use of a showerhead until Hoshihara showed her, and Miki... well, we don't know much about her yet, but she obviously makes a point of always keeping a cool facade (whatever may lay behind, that's open to debate).

It's the same for Ayame 14 that was mentioned earlier in the thread: Ayame, Sango, Kagari and Shinobu (and Fukuyama) are all at their most horny time of adolescence, but react to it in different ways. That's a big part of what makes the story so realistic and enjoyable. I'd say it's a point in common that these two series have.

Almost in spite of itself, this manga is good. The art and story are undeniably fun, especially the dancing scenes.

So, Hoshihara gets sassy to help her new friend and crush. Nice. I'd rather read that than see her being angsty and sexually frustrated.

Also, this chapter should have a bullying tag.

I'm still not entirely sure how I feel about this one. There are enough interesting elements to keep me reading for now, but also enough iffy moments that if the whole thing goes off the rails somehow I wouldn't be entirely surprised, either.

Well, she already knows her dear sister is a pretty lusty lesbian. I'm pretty sure many siblings who end up sharing a room have sometimes heard that stuff and learned to ignore it. Chances are you are doing it as well somewhere, after all.

I found it nice that the sexual dream was only linked to positive things, as it blew her anxiety away and wasn't any kind of a shameful thing. Too often this stuff is just played for laughs or shown in negative light in romantic stories. We also learned that she had started to trust Hoshikawa and developing deeper feelings for her outside of the physical attraction that she immediately had.

Well, I take the point, and had it continued in that earliest vein I would probably have given it up. But it seemed to steady itself and have something on its mind other than titillation, at least for a while. (Not that there's anything inherently wrong with some titillation, but in this case it wasn't particularly appealing on its own).

Of course, ever since Black Lily and White Lily I can always say "I've seen worse," no matter what it is.

I have no clue what you guys have problem with. I find it amazing. We need more stuff like that.

Gee, then I wonder why I went to the trouble of stating that it seemed to start out one way then improved somewhat. (I.e., it seemed to be entirely about underpants shots and gratuitous masturbation scenes, then folded in just enough plot and character development to keep me reading. For now.)
