I am from Brazil and I don't think here it has a lot of Japanese people unless in state of São Paulo (there are a lot of them). Till today I just saw less than 4 Japanese in my state (I live in a big city) and one of them is married with my cousin. But we have a lot of Chinese people.

I'm from South America (not Brazil but close) and can confirm that in Brazil there's a huge Japanese community. Between 1 and 2 millions, I've heard say it's the biggest out-of-Japan body of Japanese people in the world.

I feel like there's a lot more to Kaoru that the manga doesn't show. You have to be really hard working and dedicated to get to the top of any industry. He even left the porn industry and made it as an author so he probably has really good business sense. The manga probably just showcases him as shallow because autobiographies about hard life don't sell and it's easier to grab an audience who normally won't be into reading about girlyboys with a comedy.

I'm not saying he doesn't work hard. But so do a lot of other people. He's no special snowflake.

I think the mother of Michelle is the one to look up to, not that stupid, overly mushy (or shown as such), couple.

Since always. Whenever possible males will refer to themselves as boku or ore and atashi is actually not used that often, so the pronoun females end up using the most is watashi. And yes, watashi is usually a neutral one, but when you use it outside of polite conversations, it suggest you're a girl or effeminate, because guys always use boku/ore.
