I thought she was a really good friend. She never ditched/ignored her friend even after getting a boyfriend. Her friend is just straight. Nothing can be done bout it, unless MC confesses to lay the feels on the table and then we can see where it goes from there.

Imo false hopes are worse than no hope at all. Better for her to tell MC straight up so that MC can start looking for someone else instead of clinging onto her with a broken heart.

Except, the friend has no idea the main character is in love with her. She does not even know Yutaka is gay. Like, if you are a straight person, how often do you suspect your friends of being gay and harbouring romantic feelings for you? Airi is not a mind reader, unless Yutaka confesses, she is completely in the dark about the subject.

I think the person I replied to was referring to Airi moving on from Yukata, like a stable relationship, screwing around doesn't necessarily mean Airi got over Yukata

I think you might be reading into what zensunni said a bit too much. They didn't even hint at a timeframe or anything to begin with.

Even so, rebound relationships are a rather common thing in real life and they don't necessarily require you to actually have been in a romantic relationship first. Something like what happened in this oneshot would qualify if she did meet someone else soon after.

Rereading this. one of the saddest one-shots i've ever read. i love this author's stories but most of them are just so depressing.

For me this doesn't effect me as much as some of the other ones do. I think it is just because I'm sick of childhood friends and the promises that they make. Expecting that promise to bind the one you love is folly to me.
