Just a little under two years ago I never would have imagined this getting an anime let alone it being animated by KyoAni, man.

Its also crazy seeing the amount of fanart and attention this series has gotten so far (although granted, it's KyoAni who animated the TV adaption, afterall). Encountering hundreds of het porn for this makes it even more bewildering to think about, lol.

Hopefully this will bring attention to a Furumapura anime/OVA adaption in the future :^).

No, but seriously. Furumapura anime WHEN?!

What Chapter is the Manga currently on right now?

Ep 12 cemented further, if needed, the trio as a normal family (except maybe for the Omurice ingredients).

Fafnir and the otaku are a couple too. Fafnir even folds the laundry.

Well, only thing I find lacking in this anime is obviously sex. Kobayashi doesn't seem to have any libido.

Not that it's a bad thing in itself, but it's a bit sad when she has a maid dragon ready, willing and needing.

In Japan, it counts as a greeting between women.

I noticed that chapter the cover's the final episode of the anime come's before the chapter that cover's the dodgeball episode, I'm a bit confused on that. Could someone clear things up?

Elma wasn't even introduced before volume 3 lmao
The end of volume 2 serves as a good climax/ending point for the anime, tho it happens pretty fast in the manga, so it makes sense that they pushed that back and built other things up more, introducing Elma and giving the side characters way more screen time (compared to the manga), thus rearranging the chronology of some the manga's events, and adding original content as well. It doesn't really matter tbh, it's pretty SoL stuff

Tooru's dust-sweeping song at the start of Chapter 11? I think it's from a Buddhist story:

To answer those questions, let’s talk first about the time when Shakyamuni Buddha was still here in the flesh, preaching and teaching the Dharma in Southern India. We have a number of incidents recorded of his interaction with some unlikely disciples who attained enlightenment with ease.
One story that has always touched me concerned a young man who we would clinically diagnose today as mentally retarded. He had an older brother who wanted to leave everything to follow the Buddha, and he went along with him. But while the brother was intelligent, and well able to understand Buddha’s words, the young man couldn’t understand anything that the Buddha said. Deeply discouraged, he went to the Buddha. Weeping, he told the Buddha he was going to go back home, because he just wasn’t smart enough understand what the Buddha was talking about - much less be a good disciple.
But the Buddha would not give up on him. Instead, he took the young man to a hut that was home to an aged disciple who couldn’t take care of himself any more. The Buddha asked the young man if he’d be willing to serve the old monk as a companion. And then he taught the young man how to sweep out the hut. Whenever you sweep, the Buddha said,

say to yourself “Sweep away the dirt. Sweep away the dust."

And that’s what the young man - this mentally retarded young man - did. And simply by doing that, he quickly became enlightened, even before his intelligent and zealous older brother, who was astounded at his brother’s attainment.

... So it could be an inside joke on Tooru (that she's "dumb" but enlightened, rather Zen), and Kobayashii, who is book and programming smart but unenlightened. Or it could just be the fact that dragons are familiar with Buddhism. Maybe Tooru was even there, who knows? I heard the story first in Japan from a Japanese teacher when we were talking about students doing cleaning duty. I didn't mind it but some Western teachers did. He said, well, part of it MIGHT be that the Western tradition comes from cleaning being something done by slaves in Rome, and so on, while in Japan we have stories like this one (and told the story). And I never forgot that.

Is this worth reading? No teasing and subtext but actual romance?

Well the feelings are real, but they are not a couple because Kobayashi doesn't feel about Tooru that way yet, though she does think highly of her. It is a good read, but if you are not sure, you should watch anime first, because it is basically a better version of manga,

It’s been licensed by Seven Seas in the US. They just released the 3rd volume. The scanulator’s website suggested that they need translators.

For some reason I thought the anime was ending at ep 12 , so didn't watch ep 13 till now....

But wow that ending was super ambiguously gay. Like it was probably gayer than most anime ending since forever, without spelling it out (probably to avoid complaints from non-audience parents).
- 1st flag - Kobayashi struggle in single dad role
- 2nd flag - Tohru's dad asked if Kobayashi like Tohru, and she claimed that Tohru is hers
- 3rd flag - Tohru claimed Kobayashi can have her 'everything'
- Ultimate flag - Kobayashi bring Tohru and Kanna back to see her parents. That is high level stuff. Like if you date a girl, move in with her, stay for 2-3 years, and you can then take her back to see your parents (with a kid to boost). That is already 80% toward marriage really

This ^

Like... the director probably just include every trope possible of, I assume, Japanese civil union in, without spelling it out and get themselves into unnecessary controlversy. In fact I will say that the overall tone and msg make the event even gayer than the manga. And the manga is pretty much classified as yuri

The only thing can topple it is the "sleeping in lingerie in same King size bed" aka Fate and Nanoha. I have a feeling that lots of anime and manga couples will officially come out of closet the day Japan legalise gay marriage...

In that argument between Tooru and Elma, I'd say Tooru makes the better point.

Forget about helping humans. They either become lazy or ungrateful.

... Wait, why are the last 4 chapters featured in the Recently Added list TODAY when they've been uploaded anywhere from months to days earlier?

They were uploaded to Dynasty today. The release dates refer to when they were published in Japan (or wherever).

No, the dates refer to the scanlation's release. They were most likely asking why it took so long to be added to Dynasty (which I assume may be due to the different scanlators involved).

Huh. I could've sworn I've seen them already uploaded here before yesterday. Maybe I've confused myself with the uploads on Manga Traders.
