I think the reason why we expect harem end, is because the term Vampiress Lord in the tittle. To be a lord, Yuu has to have a bunch of retainers/ followers right?

This is an extra chapter marking the end of a volume, so usually out of the usual storyline continuity. That scene might have happened before or after ch.5 for all we know.

Is there a reason that would be surprising? They have a bunch of manga publications (basically the Gangan family).

This story seems to be headed in the direction of a surprise romantic drama, and I'm all for that.
