Seriously, the ending is what happens before a time skip in a romance story, followed by them getting together in the end. It's like Shou left that part out.

My opinion is that Ran is demiromantic with Keiko, but that they both came to an understanding that it wouldn't go further than "super-friendship".

The author obviously wanted to address what kind of relationship they have and this is the answer he came up with. They are a couple which does not have sex.

Does not mean they couldn't enter a romantic relationship with someone else though.

Ah such a great ending!

I'm glad to see Shou pushing the envelope just enough to confirm a romantic interest between Ran and Keiko but without being overt about it. More authors should learn a thing or two from him.

Is weird that this bonus was just three pages long though, previous ones have been four pages long. Oh well, isn't a big loss, isn't like he would throw the baby out the window in the next page, right?

Please shou for the love of all that's good and holy do another yuri series, I love his art so much it hurts me, even the guys he's drawn in this series are cute tbh. This extra was what my heart needed too. They're super friends for now, but someday they will be true yuri, maybe we won't see it but it's true, never give up that little hope.

An extra that is pretty much in full agreement with the on-the-fence style of the whole manga. Lots of things were hinted at but never followed up on, some major developments never explained and now we have a pretty medium and not well-done extra.

When all is said and done, it proved to be an unmemorable experience.

Personally i think all this time Higashiyama Shou never forgiven the cancellation of Prism, and that Stretch is his way of doing a big "Fuck You" to people who complained about his tracing.

Yeah, I also got the impression he was straining hard against the limits of his publisher's spec, but I guess we'll never know. Even if that were the case, he wouldn't be able to state as much without burning bridges. He won't pay any bills by fostering a reputation for being non-compliant or indiscreet, especially after the whole tracing thing.

I might fantasize that he'd done this or that instead, or circumstances had been different, but whatever happens, he's a talented writer with a knack for elliptical storytelling and slow burn. I wish him well. Perhaps the stars will align for us all in the future.

Seems likely. From what I gather about manga publishing, the editor has quite a lot of say in story decisions, especially for a series.

I love the ending picture of the different grains of rice. I personally don't like brown rice it doesn't taste as nice. The author is differently stretching our pain as yuri fans with the super friends part but at this point my heart is already crushed that I no longer feel pain at this strip. What I feel is indifference to this manga. I do hope the author well in his future endeavours. But I probably won't read the next manga by him, who am I kidding if it has yuri or subtext yuri I'll read the shit out of it and complain cause we don't have that much material to not read the yuri/subtext yuri manga even if it’s bad.
