selfish yes, but it's also deceptive --- you can be selfish and transparent about needs, which Ren is not. She clearly responded to Mizuki's request to be her lover, but she keeps her side-job completely hidden. She's OK with meeting with Chitose because she views it as a job, but understands that Chitose's expectations are that these meet ups move into a relationship (even though it's booked from her job side of things), and doesn't explain to Chitose she has a girlfriend.

Very clearly building up to have it all come down and maybe Sui enters the picture again at some point when she's at her lowest? I just hope it's paced well and doesn't feel overly exposed/like it's trying to yell a message at us, but this author can cook so I'll trust em with it ^_^

Ren is such an interesting character. She’s like those characters in other stories who’s motivations and thoughts are usually hidden, and we need to figure out just exactly what they’re thinking, because their actions are so strange

But in this story, we get a full view of her as a person, and even though what she’s doing is undeniably scummy, we can see her reasoning and thought process behind said scummy actions

I also think the title of this series is coming out in full-force XD

So, Mizuki's about to go scorched Earth for sure, but I'm super curious about Chitose's reaction to the reveal. I'm not sure how she'd feel finding out the girl she fell for hurt someone's feelings like that. I'm thinking between a three-way options of either Chitose is also hurt about the messy situation, Chitose somehow convinces herself that Ren must've had her reasons, or possibly, but I think least likely, Chitose is super happy that Ren "chose" her.

She definitely has more of a mysterious history/background with Ren and the reason for her attraction and how strong it is isn't 100% clear. It might just be a physical attraction, but it seems like there might've been something about their schooldays that started these one-sided feelings.

While Ren is not honest with both girls, I wouldn't say she is a bad person though. On one hand, the piercing girl is being pushy, and on the other hand, her girlfriend is a psycho/yandere and is also super pushy. So, while what she is doing is not good, I can also totally understand why she is doing so.

Also, she has only been with her girlfriend for a few weeks. Most people would probably not totally upfront at this stage.

She is not allowing herself to be vulnerable in front of her partners yet, and she is used to being very private about her personal life. Not excusing her behavior, but it makes sense. I hope of she becomes serious with someone, she will be be honest about her second job (well, already two of the three girls already know though).

But regardless, piercing girl (Kurata apparently) ftw. She is so precious (and hot).

I don't think Ren can't stand Mizuki. She finds a lot of parts of her cute and fun to be around, but she's a very independent-minded person and she rankles against Mizuki's attention needs. This would be less of a problem if Ren could actually communicate how she feels, but she's used to being very guarded and transactional about her relationships (which have up to this point been with men she was never really attracted to). She compartmentalizes and avoids difficult conversations as much as possible, trying to have what she enjoys about a relationship without the inconvenient emotional baggage. It's sad because it seems like her feelings for Mizuki are growing over time and she would have maybe been able to deal with her more maturely as she became less guarded, but given the circumstances I don't think this relationship is long for this world lol.

Definitely my favorite character.

Funny how Sui-chan was looking at another woman through Reina, but Chitose is looking at Ren through Reina.

Ren has some kind of dissociation between her Ren and Reina personas, which she uses to justify a lot of things, but the other girls won't have any of it.

Also, she's scared of stalkers and was worried Chitose was one, but she basically lives with one, lol.

Exactly it's honestly kind of sad, she could have grew and become a better person through learning to love. Though I don't know if Mizuki was stable enough for that to happen really. My view of Ren is that she likes Mizuki and enjoys the relationship. However, she went into the relationship and continued with the viewpoint of "this is a temporary thing". She feels fine about her actions because she doesn't view the relationship as being very serious while Mizuki is actually in love.

Honestly it's kind of interesting seeing an example of a woman in a yuri who is viewing a relationship as an actual casual thing without their being like buried hidden feelings of love.
