Jesus Christ just saw the Chapter 2 translator notes. What ridiculous, exhausting, pot-stirring shit some people were saying. Sure, I get this is not actually yuri, but seriously? “Rapey?” I don’t even think half these critics are transphobic, these doomscrollers are just looking for any dumb excuse to write paragraphs on their serial pessimism.

ElPsyKongroo, please continue to translate whatever the puck you want. Life’s too short to concern yourself with performative people that definitely didn’t even read the chapter. that does seem like where it’s headed what with momiji thinking increasingly trans thoughts even as ao keeps picturing kouyou rather than momiji, but yeah i would fully expect them to chicken out on that

Yeah it's a neat inversion of yuri bait. It's not "is the relationship between our girls actually romantic or just playful?" but rather "is Momiji a crossdressing guy or a trans girl?", with both questions leading to "Is it yuri?"

Yeah with this chapter i'm definitely starting to see how the mangaka could turn around and say "aha this was cishet all along" but I can also really clearly see why this was compelling enough to want to translate it.

Either way I'm happy to see more. Even if it might end up infuriating lmao

It wasn't the same thinking I had at the beginning of my transition, but the end is the same: more and more time spent as myself. That mirror touch made me pause; how many times have I looked in the mirror and wondered how real I was, only to continue putting on my makeup? Momiji deserves the girl.

Also worth noting, I've read a few really good forcefem stories that started like this. Egg cracking isn't easy nor does it feel like something you should have to do even though you do.

Hmm. Very, very, very cautiously optimistic that this story could turn around into something good. Curious enough to still check out chapter 4, anyway. Mangaka is juggling chainsaws, so no matter how it ends it will be... memorable.
