I recall in the early to mid 2000's, when dedicated message boards were still somewhat in their infancy, double posting was often a punishable offense (though usually not ban-worthy, provided it wasn't done in direct insubordination). Bah, maybe it's time to just permaban Souleater. They're not stopping, and they don't read the feedback (or any posts at all it seems).

As always, my first priority is that the forums remain enjoyable to as many people as possible and the conversations keep flowing. If there's someone whose behaviour stands in the way of that, then I don't object to seeing them go. Especially when they don't have any reaction to attempts to get them to stop.

I'd ask to at least making sure they know what is going on, but I'm not sure they even check image thread or read any comments under images for that matter. It seems like they treat dynasty as a booru side on which they only come to see images, post their comments and then go about their life, so it might be impossible to contact them.

If only Dynasty Scans had shadowbans. Then everyone could be happy.

Then I thought "I bet it's Souleater getting caught up on the images."

And sure enough, 125+ posts, all from him. I think the most common was "okkayy <3", which showed up maybe 10 times.

If he does that then in my opinion he's made it fairly clear he has no interest in why he's even been banned to begin with so a permaban is the next step. (At least on a lot of sites, some sites have some weird ban lengths like 6 months or year bans.)

He uses this Forum solely to mark images he has seen by commenting beneath each one, that is literally his only activity here. He never comments in any other thread, which explains why he never saw any of this. It is possible the temporary ban simply coincided with one of his periods of absence, so he does not even know he was banned. Alternatively, he has some legitimate psychological issues, if he knows he was banned. The utter childishness of his method of marking aside, if someone is banned form a site, the ban is lifted, they return, and their first , second, third, and 33rd impulse is not to try and find out why they were banned in the first place, but they instead go back to doing the one thing they do here as if no problems had arisen, I think it is rather safe to wager we are not dealing with a fully functional individual here.

I can't believe they actually did that. Welp the message clearly didn't get through, so I think it is safe to perma ban them.

To be fair, maybe it takes a really high IQ to appreciate that amount of simple, yet consistent writing habits; maybe we just don't understand the subtlety of their posts, and how they can describe all those images in such a precise manner.

Is there a rule against lengthy interpretations in comments?

After several negative interpretations in the I Hate Things Like Love discussion, I wanted to post a positive interpretation that admittedly got rather lengthy. However, the site keeps giving me this error:

Your post has been detected as spam, please contact us if you think this has been an error.

There aren’t any links, there’s no swearing, no copypasta and I even marked all the quotes properly. I think the forum markdown is correct and I’m pretty confident in my spelling and grammar too. I wanted to post this before everyone forgets about the series but the site’s not letting me and I have no idea what I’m doing wrong. :<

I put it on Pastebin, in case anyone wants to have a look.

Also, isn’t there a collapse/expand block available via forum markdown?

That seems to be a false positive on the spam detection, rather than being against the rules. I’ll pass that along to the appropriate person and we’ll see if we can’t get it taken care of. Thanks for bringing it up.
