This is a pretty old one-shot that can be translated in this year

That was resolved and over so quickly, passed the conflict I think it gave me whiplash.

UGH I wanna vomit

and the fact the conflict got fixed so fast it did give me whiplash

My take was that Kazumi (tomboy) started working at the civil engineering business of Nachi's family (thus her hauling boxes around in front of trucks, like the trucks we see on page 2.) Meanwhile Nachi might have taken the hostess job for some income until the theater starts doing better. Which it hasn't ("skin of my teeth") but isn't dead yet either.

Basically they were forced to work, but swapped the jobs pressed onto them, which is a more appropriate configuration (tomboy Kazumi works with trucks, dress-up Nachi works with men.)

Also they became closer... somehow? Weak link, there.

Also, the math confuses me. They're 4 years apart, but Nachi has graduated from college, while Kazumi is considering dropping out of high school. Isn't college in Japan 4 years? Or did Nachi do the equivalent of an associates (2 year)? But the sign said "womens university", sounds like the full deal.

Thanks because I was feeling a bit meh after reading the story but your take helped see it in a better light for me. I think it is a waste still that Nachi went to work as hostess but just my opinion.

Yeah this one is kind of eh, art style is nice at least, and assuming they got together eventually I think they might make for a good couple, unfortunately the resolution is very rushed and the whole high school hostess worker element is extremely uncomfortable.

Yeah that's what I got too, at least the switching jobs part. Still, it wasn't great

I know this is on the older side and im thinking to much into it but even then what type of mother would ever be ok and "thrilled" with having their daughter drop out of high school to be some dumb ass "hostess" and have older men creep on her for money?? Makes no type of sense especially when the dumb ass mother herself could've gotten a job instead and had her daughter finish school properly.
But yeah, I think they just "switch" the type of jobs that their parents where trying to force them to do. And because Nachi help Kazumi get out of being a hostess they ended up closer and together some how. Honestly this story was kinda eh.

Kazumi could have started working for a crossdressing Host club. Just sayin'

Well, at least it wasn’t another ‘tomboy wants to secretly be girly’ story, I guess.
