inb4 the scanlators stop to "support" the American publishers, like the good boys they are.

I'm sure you'll all enjoy the wait of one or two years.

I am unsure if this is like a joke or something, but what's the issue if they do? It's weird to force any scans group to go against their beliefs, specially when they are not unethical or immoral to have in any way, shape, or form. I am already grateful that scans groups help boost a manga that deserves attention, whether they finish it or not, because of an official translation.

And I re-read manga from a decade ago, I have no issue waiting if life lets me for a good manga to be done well.

I guess they think wanting to support the artist is funny. The publisher gets something out of it too, so I guess we're being duped or something, gullible, yada yada.

Doubly ironic since it's easy to argue that the scanlation group is the main reason this manga is still alive and licensed.

My message was ironical, because without scanlation, this manga would have stayed relatively unknown outside Japan and would have been cancelled. And if the scanlators stop, people are going to forget it really, really fast and the sales will be mid at best.

So, by stopping the scanlation (if they do), they'll probably contribute to its future cancellation.Quite the irony no?

Weirdly snarky message. We on the scan team have always been clear that it's our priority to do whatever we can to support the author and steer readers towards buying the manga so that the author can realize her full vision of the story without fear of the work being cancelled.

Based on what we've observed, Love Bullet is a series where scanlations have literally proven to have made a major difference in the fate of a manga on the chopping block. There's no way we would stop scanlations when we could use them to steer English readers who've been eagerly waiting for an official release towards the preorders once they go live.

If we had any proof the scanlations were actively harming the author's sales we would stop. While piracy's a net positive for the manga industry, it can be argued on how useful it is to smaller series that people don't deem good enough to purchase after reading illegally or that many scanlators don't even bother linking to an author's socials or official buying links - and those things are worth discussing. But for Love Bullet it's pretty clear that scans have been overwhelmingly positive for it. So we'll continue scanlating and promoting the preorders and the upcoming Vol 2 release in Japanese as we did for Volume 1.

Thanks for the information about your approach and thoughts on the subject. Your approach sounds reasonable and nuanced.

Ouch the edge. It's okay to talk about something without being drenched in irony. Like geez this manga is the one example where the community actually stepped up to save it and an English localization was just announced! And your first thought is to immediately doompost about the scan team even though they made no statement about ever stopping scans once a license was secured? Yeesh.

Me? Of course I ship Chiyo and Ena, look how deliciously violent their relationship would be.

I'm still not shipping any of the cupids, personally. I mean, the fact that they explicitly are incapable of falling in romantic love with anyone until their period of service to the goddess of love concludes seems like a helluva obstacle.

That aside, energetic trouble making short girl x stern taller girl who gripes but can (at least mostly) keep up with her is an enjoyable dynamic.

The pre-order links for the English version of Volume 1 are live!!!

Our goal is to secure so many pre-order sales that inee won't even have to worry about Volume 2 sales in order to secure Volume 3 and beyond of the story!

bit.ly/lovebullet1 will take you to Yen Press's pre-order page!

Why does yen press get all the good stuff. Their translations are often kinda... iffy.

Of course, I only ship couples that are 100% canon compliant. Shipping two people who aren't or can't be together in canon? Heresy. For example, I'd never ship two canonically straight girls together.

does yenpres only deliver to the US and Canada or is there some way to get around those being the only two countries the store lets me choose.

Because i'll be honest I'm not going to buy a pdf, so if there's another way to get the manga to europe I'd be happy to hear it.

Yen Press is owned by Kadokawa, so any Kadokawa works will almost always be translated by them. In this case we can expect they'll be either using or referencing inee's original script in English, so I don't think we have to worry about them getting anything wrong in the translation. I can't speak on their typesetting, print quality, etc., but the overall product will almost certainly be better than the scans lol

Depending on where you are in Europe, you may have to wait until after the book releases for your local manga bookstores to order some copies (if they order English manga at all). If you have a Kinokuniya or bookstore that carries lots of manga in your area/country, they will almost certainly order the book for you if you provide them the ISBN number (9798855430301).

I've already seen a Phillipines online storefront put up their own listing for the English volume, so it'll be worth it to check the websites of your country's bookstores that carry manga too.

The author could just provide them with the English script herself.

Interesting that Kanna is at most 3 years older than Koharu, assuming that they both took the same amount of time to revive.

Yeah, I noted that. Barely older than Koharu, while the other two are censored, and I think Chiyo's few flashbacks have looked like Taishou era or something.

WILL DEFINITELY BUY!! I THANK THE SCANLATORS FOR GETTING THE WORD OUT so that the manga could rally behind the author. If the scans do hurt sales, I do believe the scanlator’s earlier post that they would stop. But while waiting on a volume 2, scanning is good to keep readers involved. But FOR SURE I am buying pre orders.
