It's amazing how boring this manga has gotten. The first chapters that focused on actual yuri were really emotional and fun to read, but now I'm considering dropping this. Hopefully it will get more interesting and we get so see more....yuri.
I agree. I think it's about time the yuri tag got removed.

Koharu's backstory is yuri (Aki's love for her). Chapter 0 was Koharu setting up a yuri relationship (and that was a second girl candidate, they already had a choice between guy and girl for their target.) Adult Aki-chan was set up with another woman. The current target, well, she wrote a love letter to a boy, but I wouldn't bet against her ending up with (girl) friend Hasumi.
The cupids are supposed to be loveless (though Kanna seems oddly attached) but they've been shedding yuri all over the place.

huh, so Hasumi died and Ena (Hasumi Ena) wants them to back the fuck off because she's still kind of understandly mad about it.
No wonder she doesn't want anyone to contact the hospital. she's straight just dead, and the school hasn't even told any of her classmates....

huh i thought it was like time travel, wherein the cupids die and then can show up whenever but ena is pretty new then right? when was the landslide do we know? this is pretty cool
Wait, but doesn't a cupid's former name get taken when they become a cupid? If it's really the same Ena, how was Kitano able to say her name? There's something else at play here for sure...
The only time we've seen a cupid's pre-death identity be brought up before is Koharu's from her own perspective; it could be possible that the name erasure only affects that cupid, and not the others.
Also, going to point out that Chiyo has already known Ena for some time.
what...
Hasumi gotta be Ena's sister, or relative. They look similar but there are differences. Their braids especially. Hasumi has her braids longer going down at the front. Ena has shorter braids at the back going up a bit.

Could Ena be cosplaying as one of the living in her spare time?
I gotta say, if Ena really died during that landslide then it's kinda fucked up how the love goddess seems to insist on using people they might have been the closest to as part of these new cupids' first cases lmao.

Didn't even thought of that. She seems extremely WW1 coded to me and has kind of an "old soul", which honestly had me assumed she died in like 1912, so her death being so recent was kind of a surprise. But maybe she's just being an historical nerd.
That being said her bullying history seemed to be very real and I don't think the classmates would remember her name once she switches up if "Hasumi" was just a cupid cover-up.

Why? The first volume is entirely yuri, as is at least one character’s backstory. Just because volume 2 focuses on a het couple doesn’t mean the tag isn’t still applicable.
I don't think Hasumi is dead.
I mean Ena herself said she's in the hospital. and Touma mentioned that her injuries from the landslide weren't serious. They were there when it happened, so they probably saw her carted away.
That said I would guess it's as someone (@Hypixion) suggested, a distant relative or some such...probably Ena doesn't want them finding out the connection between them?

"The first volume" is the issue. With how volume 2 has been going, it feels like a general romance manga that just happened to have a yuri pairing in its first volume. If it keeps going that way, the yuri tag should be removed from the work and added to applicable chapters instead.
That being said, I'm giving the story the benefit of doubt for how volume 2 ends. There's still a chance it will redirect towards yuri. If it does, if both volumes are yuri with a bit of het in-between, then having the work marked as yuri with specific het chapters is right.
Tags aside... I didn't get into this manga to read a straight story, and I also find myself losing interest with how volume 2 has been going - and that's indeed because there hasn't been yuri in them.
Man, too bad there's been no foreshadowing of the current target girl maybe ending up with the hospital girl. Absolutely none. No hint of upcoming yuri whatsoever.

Also, the first volume had two yuri resolutions, plus one yuri crush.

Huh? No. I meant she died a long time ago and she was pretending to be a living girl and going to school anyways.

Huh, that seems like an option as well. She might have just been tracking the class because her target was there but when the landslide happened she stepped in when the class was in danger, pretending to be a student.
edit: Nvm, completely forgot about the picture of hasumi that was shown at the end of this chapter.

I think the argument for Love Bullet not being a yuri series in its entirety holds some water. But calling the whole series a "general romance" does not hold up to scrutiny. There is no male character in the male cast, none of the main characters have a male love interest, and the series places great emphasis on their relationships with each other. The straight pairing in volume two is central to the job that the main characters are taking on, but that does not change the primary genre of the whole series to romance, let alone straight romance.
Love Bullet seems to use romantic love (with an obvious bias towards F/F) to facilitate drama and action, from the perspective of the cupids. I think the emotional catharsis of volume 1 is Koharu bursting into tears after she completes her first job (the successful formation of the F/F pairing). The matchmaking activity exists to support the character development of the cupids, much more so than the other way around.

It's officially a yuri everywhere--sold and marketed as yuri. There's no reason to tag it differently.

Yeah and it does a good job with that.

It can't be straight up Ena if apparently some time has to pass before you're reincarnated as a cupid (5 years for Koharu), and this event seems to be relatively recent :P

I mean... good ? Hopefully that means volume 2 end up with a yuri pairing and the het couple was just bait.
Which means assuming the tagging everywhere is based on word of the author and not the (correct) observation about volume 1. It's a reasonable assumption, but unless someone has seen confirmation that future chapters are yuri, it remains assumption, not observation.
But then, you know what ? If it's yuri and the foreshadowing is correct and so on ? Then it remains that, for a yuri romance story, volume 2 has been seriously lackluster... lacking in yuri romance.

What a stupid fucking comment. Sorry but I'm not gonna mence my words. Just because a het couple exists in a story doesn't mean it isn't Yuri. It was obvious from the beginning that we would get some couples that aren't F/F because they're fucking cupids. They don't exclusively match up lesbians. But the story doesn't revolve around the couples; it revolves around the cupids.
Honestly it would be cool if we get a gay male couple down the road, as it being just straight and lesbian couple would be unrealistic. But the story obviously is more biased towards lesbian couples, which is fine, since it's a Yuri. The story is still in the beginning stages, and we only recently got introduced to Ena again. If you can't handle the story not immediately having the cupids kissing then go ahead and drop the story. I rather not see you constantly complain when a new chapter comes out.
Is there any news on when volume 2 releases?

Ok but I don't care about all that? Why even bother shoving in a het couple in a yuri manga? If I wanted to read a generic het romance, I could pick up literally anything else. Oh, and don’t come at me with the whole “do they need to kiss for it to be yuri” bullshit whenever someone says they don’t enjoy a lackluster yuri manga.
And ngl, it's kinda funny that yuri fans were the ones who saved this series from cancellation… only to get “rewarded” with the spotlight shifting to a het romance lol. But hey, each to their own I guess. I just don’t get why some people can’t understand that some yuri fans only want (and only care about ) yuri romances in a... yuri story.

I hope people keep supporting the series and the story that the mangaka wants to make. If she wants to include a variety of couples in her story I think that's fine. From what I can tell the story will always be lesbian centered at it's core, and including a variety of people and couples in the world that are also part of the cupid work doesn't take away from that.
I just don’t get why some people can’t understand that some yuri fans only want (and only care about ) yuri romances in a... yuri story.
It feels like you're the only person not understanding that many other fans are fine with the series and enjoy it for what it is. You're the one bringing in the negativity, so let's not gaslight the situation. If it's not your thing, there's surely something else out there for you to spend energy on. There's no need to crash out about this series and in no way is this a generic het story.
