Wow, the font the scanlators used did not do this justice. I think the average foreigner has better Japanese handwriting than this. I'm slightly disappointed the typesetter didn't give it their best shot in MS Paint to really capture the authenticity.

I thought the scanlators choice wasn't bad. The point of her writing isn't that it's "bad", but just really cute and doesn't fit her elegant image. So the rounded lettering in the English fits the rounded lettering in Japanese imo. Maybe could just be a little thinner.

Definitely on my read list.

On the flip side the final font of the letter is way fancier in the translation. In Japanese it is just a regular neatly done writing (I think it might be the exact same font as my textbook, actually), not something that draws attention for how pretty it is, like in the scanlation.

I honestly liked how her first love didn't reject her because she was a girl like we all probably expected at first, but just because she wasn't her type. :D

Yes, I did struggle a lot with the handwriting font choices. Originally I had something much uglier with hand-adjusted letter sizes, etc, but some people thought it was really painful to read - and like Chikaon said, only needed to be childish & cute, not ugly, so this was the compromise. The final font maybe could have been more "normal" but then I was worried the difference would be too subtle, especially since the font on the final letter needed to be so small. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
