Irene x Faye - M.C. travels to foreign country to build connections, "Love Interest" leaves her alone (on purpose) knowing she'll get harassed, M.C. nearly gets SA'ed and murders a noble possibly causing diplomatic incident.

Its like reading two completely different stories in one and im here for it

Couple A: Sweethearts being sickeningly cute together.
Couple B: Toxic manipulation, Machiavellian plots, foiled rape attempts, and attempted murder.

Well-- Let's remember that Couple A was toxic at the start too, maybe not as Machiavellian, but there was definitely some crazy moments... So maybe Couple B will get there too? lmao

Yeah couple A started with hiring someone to rape/murder the other so couple B isn't that far off

Problem is, I don't know if there's going to be another 50 chapters to fix Irene. Irene also isn't doing these things as impulsively as Hesha did, aka she's not coming from as ignorant a place that can be learned from, nor is Faye looking like she can take it or push back the way Jolene could. Then there's Diana.

Edit: Just to be clear I'm still all here for the characters and drama. But I'm not so sure about the Faye/Irene ship anymore. In fact I kinda want to see Hesha stand up for her sister and smack Irene for this.

Who would have thought I'd be cheering Hesha and Jolene this much? Also, Irene is literally now the worst character. I would have picked Lord William McHandsy, but he got his head smashed in so hopefully he has a brain injury and spends his remaining years pooping into a bag.

Irene kinda pisses me off. Why does the masc presenting character have to be a manipulative ass? Faye may be a spoiled brat, but nobody deserves what Irene is doing to her.

Also, if Kelly is switching to her original har color, perhaps she could also start wearing sleeveless outfits. No particular reason....

Oh man, so much to unpack here. Faye having untreated PTSD, but on the flip side, Kelly has gotten even hotter and is a far better match for her than any of the previous options.

Meanwhile, Hesha and Jolene descend to the next level of lewdness -- foot-holding. Are they trying to get each other pregnant before marriage at this point??

She is not, and the title is a gross mislabeling, likely because there isn't a term to describe women capable and willing of confronting abuse with overwhelming force.

It would have been funny if they went for a mouthful title, "The villainess and the girl who responds to bullies with violence", that'd probably be more accurate

Exactly! THIS. Thank you!! Right from the beginning I've been writing angry comments on the matter. Why is it wrong for a woman to defend herself physically? Sometimes it's the only way that actually works. And this title is either making a yandere seem harmless or mislabeling women who fight back!

Aside from that I am really enjoying the wholesomeness of those two.

I love how each chapter you get a Side A that is pure sweetness and then a Side B with political intrigue, perfect balance.

It's a very interesting development, Kelly will be with Faye all the time, but I'm assuming she has took the job as a chance to get in the way between Hesha and Jolene. She's at the center of everything.
And Diana is also joining the party now, so who knows, we might get Kelly x Diana or Diana x Faye (which would be quite interesting, because it would mean Faye actually becomes a princess, just of a different country).

I see a lot of people putting on for Faye x Kelly and while I would think that could have potential to maybe go somewhere, I highly doubt it would happen. I dont think Faye or Kelly see each other that way at all, not to mention Kelly sadly still has that crush on Hesha and Irene exists and isn't going anywhere anytime soon I imagine. I can't disagree that sadly the hopes for a Kelly route are slim, however I'm placing my hopes in her showing off her strength as a body guard, followed by sweeping Faye off her feet which results in swooning.

I love how much tonal whiplash there is in this series, somehow balancing Hesha and Jolene being off in their own little lovey-dovey world with Faye being intentionally traumatized, gaslit, and manipulated while caught up in a political game way above her level seemingly without her knowledge, all of which has ways of tying into one another in a surprisingly coherent way. This is deranged in all the right ways and I always look forward to new chapters because I have no idea where it's taking me next

Jolene and Hesha are so sweet ~ but yea, Hesha used to be very horrible lol… even tried to get Jolene r*ped

I don't think the author is trying to go for setting up Faye x Irene anymore, especially since Irene and Diana have something going on already. I think Irene may just be trying to get a pawn to promote her ideals, like how Dana said she would need royals backing her up. Trying to make a potential crown princess have her views.

Maybe its not something like that, but anyways there's definitely something going on between Diana and Irene.

It used to be just a popcorn drama but it became really good.
