They're probably not the exact same color but similar enough colors. Lipstick expires and it can be hard to donate because it's been touching someone's lips and people don't necessarily want to use someone they don't knows makeup like that.

Aya is also a gyaru or former gyaru so she probably also shops for fun and a bunch of those lipsticks might be impulse buys.

Who’s this new punk… potential band mate?

She's not new. She was just introduced a few chapters ago and has appeared since. She's Shu-can, part of Aya's friend group now and member of the club.

I am glad to see Shu-chan's storyline continue to build along with everything else that's coming together over time; I was asking about her recently. I'm interested in what Narita picked up on which was that Koga's work schedule is busy in the afternoon, yet Aya is still hanging around the club lately during the mornings. Potentially implies her being uncomfortable communicating with Mitsuki about the recent band situation and choosing to hang out with the club more, maybe without realizing it herself (or could be something else, we'll see).

There's also the mark on her neck which I'm sure is just a hickey (though, I wouldn't be surprised if it was stress as others have guessed). It feels appropriate that Shu-chan would focus on her neck and what looks like a hickey, since she's been--to her great displeasure--confused about Aya since her arrival into the cast. I want to understand what the explanation for her fixation with Aya will be (she's clearly also struggling for that answer too lol). Also, what role will she have as she figures that out and once she figures that out.

Another fun chapter, adding more pieces to the building puzzle. I've enjoyed the series a lot more recently as we build things up. It all feels so intentional, it's cool. Can't wait for the full picture to be revealed and for everything to come crashing into each other. Is this red like Valentine's day, or red like a fresh bruise? Shu-chan would like to know.

a great line, i'd also like to know. i'm so excited to see where this goes, considering the trends in literally every other arai sumiko work. i know it'll be resolved somehow (anything else otherwise would be like a yuri extinction level cataclysmic event), but how long it takes and the journey there will be so juicy...

Yes, this series has always done a lot of oblique storytelling, only previously the immediate plot endpoints were more obvious:

• How will Aya discover that the guy she was interested in wasn’t a guy at all?

• How will Aya and Mitsuki realize their feelings and become a couple?

Now we’re faced with the problem of the couple-getting-together romance story continuing after the couple gets together: what comes next?

Apparently the answer concerns Mitsuki’s music as well as her ongoing communication issues, and in the past she tended to resolve those communication issues via her music. It will be interesting to see if it can work the other way around.

Aya is her "red." The feelings Aya causes her to feel is "red." She's trying to understand what she's feeling and is annoyed by it. She leaves the room, time passes, runs into a guy, Aya pops up and saves her. She's forced to see and feel "red" again. She can't escape Aya or the feelings her presence causes. It's a metaphor and is broad because she doesn't have the words to explain where it's coming from yet. It also seems deliberate to contrast with the manga's use of green. Color has already been used in this way for the manga, so she's doing more of that. I wonder if she would ever have a moment actually accented with red for dramatic effect.

So, the color "red" represents everything that makes Shu think of Aya and frustrates her, for unstated reasons.

It's sad I recently reread this entire series and I have no idea who this rando is who's most likely just gonna cause lame drama because our main couple can't communicate and gonna put a bigger wedge between them and a huge strain on their relationship the more they don't actually talk. I know I've said this a bunch since the bank break but if you can't communicate with your partner it's D.O.A and doomed to fail. I've had far too many relationships end in my life because either I'm too stubborn and can't speak up or my partner doesn't. Maybe at this point I'm just too old to not blurt out and speak my mind lol.

It honestly wont surprise me if they end up breaking up because of this when Aya eventually blows up at Mitsuki and she has no idea what to do with that and lashes back at her.

I guess Rando girl can shoot her shot after that :D
