I do think that's the artist's intent, but there's no indication of a body under those covers and the place where she stops doesn't match the edge of any of the bedding. There's another really bad one in the side shot at the bottom of this page.

but yeah, the bottom of page 5 is pretty bad. Clearly not under the perfectly folded blanket, but not going anywhere either.

Ok, I know these weekly serials are produced under insane time pressure, and I know this isn’t even Chise’s primary strip, but the non-Euclidean nightmares in these panel backgrounds make me worry that maybe nobody was actually reincarnated and instead this is an adaptation of The Good Place.

I only just read this but I was more distracted by these obviously copy-and-pasted 3d scooters lmao, this all looks way off :P hopefully it makes up for it in other ways

I’m really enjoying this story … I’m looking forward to all of the angst of “we used to be not-quite-lovers and now we must somehow learn to live our lives in our new status quo and Also balance the feelings that linger”.

personally speaking on the art, I’ll take some 3D modeled backgrounds and whatever else with this emphasis on the main characters (i think they look really cute, our resident puppy especially) over like . complete generic A-1 pictures moe slop. this site’s seen worse — please keep up the good work, scanlators!

The amount of time that passed for either one of them could be pretty different, with Rachel just popping into this world whereas MC had already lived out a long life after Rachel's death in the other world (not to mention the time growing up in this world for MC)

Hmm, their pre-reincarnation relationship becomes more and more messed up, the more we learn about it. So Elysia was a saintess, and Rachel, a knight. But Rachel took her prisoner? Maybe she was serving an opposing faction? But then the Stockholm Syndrome hit Elysia hard, and they started having sex exchanging mana? Then Elysia was recaptured and Rachel was burned alive by Elysia's faction?

So like how long did she live in her previous life, and how long has Rachel been in this world. The amount of time that passed for either one of them could be pretty different, with Rachel just popping into this world whereas MC had already lived out a long life after Rachel's death in the other world (not to mention the time growing up in this world for MC)

So for Rachel it's been about more or a day since she came to this world. From her perspective she was being executed and then she just suddenly appeared in the park where Lin Xiya's little sister found her.

From the perspective of Lin Xiya/Elysia it's been nineteen years since she was born into this world, and an unknown amount of time before that where she thought Rachel was dead in the old world. We're not entirely clear on when her memories came back yet, but she prioritizes her life as Lin Xiya so she's going to probably measure it from her birth regardless.

So unless Elysia died right away old world after the execution it's been at Least 20 years for Lin Xiya without Rachel, and quite possibly even more where as from Rachel's perspective its only been for however long she was held before her execution.

Well, there seems to be more complicated stuff to their previous relationship than it seemed so far.

But despite her protests, she was blushing hard all this time. :P
