Alright. I somehow didnt notice chapter 14 had been uploaded a month ago so I got to see both chapters at once and end the story without the cliffhanger.

It was nice. I liked it quite a bit and i like the implication that Ayano became a fashion designer with Tsubaki (who gets a real name) becoming her model both famous enough to leave a lasting impact on the world.

Oh, that ending was cute, if a little bit unsafisfying.

That was a good ending considering everything, especially having a believable reason for why they would meet in the boat. Both "mothers" saw their daughters off at the port. I enjoyed this series even if cut a bit short.

aw that was cute, though I wish there was some more. It's such an awesome story that it still felt abrupt as an end. At least a little bit more with the name and whatnot.

I would have liked a bit more explicit hint that Beniko was having Ayano watched, so as to know to get Tsubaki onto the ship. Or that Beniko and (friend) were colluding. Otherwise it still seems rather coincidental.

Talk about deus ex machina.

Now officially my favorite manga, by a long shot. I wonder what would be the name Ayano would give to Tsubaki? What an ending that makes me smile. Especially the last panel.
It is interesting that people can recognize faces of iconic people, but know nothing about them. It is like people nowadays would hardly ever know who Marlene Dietrich, Greta Garbo, or Louise Brooks were. They do not know their names, yet can recognize them instantly whenever some film highlights or advertisement were shown. I am sure in due time, Marilyn Monroe will join that club.

Beniko set it up, no doubt. There is no need to show it more, which makes things even more interesting as if Beniko were pulling the strings behind the scene.

ended just like that, huh… cute ending, but as another reader mentioned, it did feel underwhelming and unsatisfying. Such a shame—I really thought this would at least reach 20 chapters. :\

Maybe it was underwhelming but it's really a good ending for me. Especially because it's a happy ending in a historical yuri, gives me hope for another series in the future.

I'm glad they had a happy ending, but this feels more like they told only half of the story and left the rest up to the imagination.

I feel like this is one of those I'll need to find some time and read all in one sitting. Having followed along since the translation started the ending feels sort of jarring, but maybe not having the gaps between uploads will remedy that

My thoughts are maybe Tsubaki is going to get burn scars which would then make her "undesirable" and help her escape being a lady of the night.

Or, best case scenario, she uses the fire to fake her own death and gets a new identity.

Called it. :3

I like the old trope that once MC wears glasses, MC will turn into a whole new person that no one knows about ಥ‿ಥ..

This series has ended.
I'll miss this. It's really good manga.

+1

...To read about their history can be very depressing.
The moment they are born, they are sold, and all they wanted was food and a place to sleep.
The most basic thing that life could have given if there are other possible ways to give them, yet they couldn't and as if, this is the only road they could take once they are born...(ب_ب)

P.s. it's a good ending. Far-fetched but sweet. The truth and reality may not be that sweet though.
Though..
Thank you for the good ending, SheepD sensei.

I like this manga because it tells a little background stories of the once upon a time in Japan.
The Japan we know now in the media sounds really nice but ,not so for the history I guess.
And it's pretty much the same for most countries before they develop into what they are now.
So,a story like this.. wouldn't sound right in the reality.
Reality would be much harsher (achievable, not impossible..but it's extremely difficult to, because of society..)
Money is not accessible to women; father like Ayano San hmm.. is rare; Tsubaki san would have met all sorts of people that.. I'm not sure if she would really lean to this little girl's dream of wanting her to become something else, too risky; and Ayano san..

And that personally, when it comes to relationship, I don't.. really think there's something called forever. But I believe in Now. I also believe as long as they intend to stay by one's side, then it's precious.

Or so I think what it is.

TLDR: just ramblings, not worth reading the lines above. Oh but I like the manga. The end sounds a little optimistic but I like it.
Thank you sensei for the good dreams.

Oh ya, there's one thing about this manga that isn't far-fetched though: if you don't stand up for yourself, or the people your kind, then no one else is going to stand it up for you, I think.
