Yeah, "dumped" implies they were already dating in the dream and then they broke up, but she confessed and was rejected. Either way I'm glad it's getting an official release (and I've already bought my copy of volume 1).

My main guess is that they wanted a different title than the fan translated one...but it definitely reads weird. I haven't read the whole English print volume yet but I can at least confirm that it starts with saying she was rejected, and it's good that they're at least being faithful there...but it definitely makes the title odd lol

"Dumped" and "Rejected" are the same verb in Japanese (振られる), so it needs to be translated according to context.

Here, it's obviously "rejected", but the official usually try to not translate titles the same as the "fan translations", to avoid plagiarism accusations and/or that searches direct to the scanlation instead of the official.

That's how, for example, "A Kiss for the girls' scars" (which is the "natural" translation) became "Kiss the scars of the girls", which is pretty ugly imo.

Thanks for explaining, that makes sense I think. I had a feeling that might be the case since here, due to my experience with how I heard Dungeon Meshi has a character that had a weird name change in the official translation, all to avoid those accusations with the fan translation. Which unfortunately the name translation in the official release is bad lol
