I think this chapter's drama is fun and I'm interested in where it goes. Mitsuki says she doesn't want Aya to see this side of her (maybe the side that gives up her solo, or maybe because it's girly pop music) but Mitsuki forgets that Aya loved her even when Mitsuki was wearing the girl's uniform at school. Interesting to see Mitsuki having to go through some personal reflection and finding her place again, since that original tension of Mitsuki "school version" vs Mitsuki "music shop version" has been pretty much resolved since she started wearing the boy's uniform to school.

Now that I think about it... Have we read anything about Aya's father?

He gave her a camera to use with her friends in that series of bonus booklets.

Aya's coming could go a lot of ways. Mitsuki could spiral worse, or Aya could help her feel better after noticing how uncomfortable Mitsuki is up there.

So spiral it is. This will be very interesting, especially once they get their first chance to talk after this performance (or lack thereof). I still think it would be meaningful if Aya was fooled and that leads Mitsuki to feel even more out of place.

I also still wonder how the new girl on Aya's side will factor in but things have developed well post time skip, so I trust she'll have her moments.

I really love the use of (and the lack of) the color green in this one. Mitsuki’s color has faded with her pride and passion, with this band, and I love how the mangaka reflects that with the lack of the signature green.

I don’t think this will drag outside the live, she will play her solo (and maybe more) and 1) she will leave the band 2) her solo makes the public go crazy, she apologize to her bandmates but then they are the ones apologizing, they tell her to stay and start adding more Mitsuki to the songs

True, the “stay together happily forever” groups don’t make the news very much, sometimes bands break up because people are OK with the music but have come to hate each others’ guts, and sometimes bands do go through patches of “creative differences” and then work things out.

I like the way that the series has slowly built up the idea that Mitsuki really does have something special as a musician (the video in the park going viral, the jaded music producer pricking up his ears at her music, etc.), but it will take some doing for her to find her niche.

I know, it’s great. It’s not a first time it happened this volume, either. A few chapter ago, when they talked about taking out her guitar part, the green coloring literally shatters.

Okay obviously this isn't a healthy dynamic for Mitsuki but for those cheering for her to just willfully reinsert her solo into this live performance... that'd be such a fuckass thing to do to people who are currently still her bandmates.
